never ever been a cheerleader (or wanted to, or could have). I grew up playing softball and field hockey. I played softball, field hockey and volleyball all through middle school and high school. I played softball at a D2 college and pledged spring of my freshman year. I was also a RA for 2 years and graduated in 4 with a major and double minor. It was all about time management and being able to work with others. My sorority was very understanding. A lot of my girls were on the soccer or tennis teams. Several of the men on the soccer team were in a fraternity together. Most of the cheerleaders were in another sorority. I was always amazed how we would beat them in Greek Sing and they had all the dancers! Athletics were big at my school and we had a tough schedule. I had to miss most of my spring retreats because of games...:( It was tough, mentally and physically, but I won't trade it in for anything!

I was a cheerleader the beginning of high school, and on the dance team the last of high school. I wanted to cheer/dance in college, but I went to a womens university, so we had no cheer team, and the dance team was theater-type dance. I also coached pee-wee, and want to have my own dance studio some day. I am training to try out for the Dallas Desperados Dance team. I don't even care if I actually make it, its just been a goal of mine.

About 80% of KSU's dance team are DG's. I think all but 2 guys on the cheer squad here are Sigma Nu's. I think it's interesting how all the dance girls ended up in the same chapter, though I can see how it happened. :)

I never cheered in high school because of swimming, but I was on a competetion cheerleading squad in 8th and 9th grade, and I cheered for PeeWee football and junior high football and basketball.

I'm the only exception (so far) in my family to the former cheerleader=sorority girl rule...both my older sisters were cheerleaders, but I quit cheering and gymnastics (much to the horror of my parents) when I was around 12 or so. My younger sister isn't a cheerleader either, but jury's still out on whether she'll end up joining a sorority or not since she's got a few more years til she gets to college.

Wow, am I the only one who was never a cheerleader or on dance team, drill team, flag corps, gymnastics, etc. and got into a sorority? Unfortunately, I have the coordination of a paper bag--and that may be a generous comparison :D

Nope, I was a huge klutz and played basketball and was in track.

There were always a good number of Zetas on the dance team at Baylor. A couple of Tri Delts were cheerleaders and a Pi Phi. Not sure what the make up is these days.
