Before I was initiated into Tri Delta, another Tri Delta told me that the woman who founded Tri Delta used to be the president of ASA - I have no idea what the arrangement was or why, but that's still kind of cool because it makes us that much more sisters!

Close, but not quite. Delta Delta Delta was founded in 1888, Alpha Sigma Alpha was founded in 1901. Sarah Ida Shaw, one of the founders of Delta Delta Delta and later known as Ida Shaw Martin, helped Alpha Sigma Alpha expand and establish themselves in the 1910s-1920s. She also served as ASA's National President until 1930.

Just wanted to clear up the misinformation. I still think it's a neat connection between Tri-Delta and ASA. :)
