Brandy
LOS ANGELES — Move over, Shar Jackson. You aren't the only one with baby-daddy drama.
Remember your co-star Brandy, a.k.a. Moesha herself? After her failed "non-traditional marriage" left her raising a little girl alone, people started getting all up in her business (see "Brandy Insists She Didn't Lie About Marriage To Save Her Image"). Now she's got a message for her critics and the rest of America: Single moms can be good moms. And she'll be delivering that message on her new FOX series. "I think that it's going to be relatable for so many young girls out there with babies that don't really have a solid relationship," she said. "It could be cool with the father, but they don't really have a regular family life. I'm going to let people know that it's cool to have a child and be young and still be a good mom. It's really tough, but I'm doing it. It may not be the best in someone else's eyes, but it's the best I can do." The singer/actress is taking her time to develop the series because she wants people to grasp the passion going into the project, and she doesn't want to "half step it." The title for the show is still up in the air, but Brandy promises the story lines will hit close to home for many while still being funny. "It's going to be me playing [a character based on] my life, but it's not going to be me as Brandy," she explained. "It's going to be a totally different person, but with the same challenges that I go through in my life ... being a single mom, raising my child, trying to have a life, trying to have friends and trying to do my own thing." Brandy's return to TV won't stop the music — she released a greatest-hits album, The Best of Brandy, on Tuesday (April 5), featuring 18 songs spanning her career. Tracks include "Best Friend," "The Boy Is Mine," "What About Us" and "Talk About Our Love." The CD will also feature collaborations and remixes including "Another Day in Paradise," a European hit she recorded with her brother Ray J; a remix of "I Wanna Be Down," with Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Yo-Yo; plus a remake of Michael Jackson's "Rock With You," featuring Quincy Jones and Heavy D. "I'm really proud of it, and I hope people like it," Brandy said. "When you get a chance to step back, you notice all these great things you've done and all these great people that you've worked with. The album is a celebration of me being in the industry for so long, and I'm still going." Brandy has yet to sign with another record label since parting ways with Atlantic Records after 11 years (see "Another Breakup For Brandy: This Time It's Her Label"), but she promises her next album of new material will also be some of her greatest work. "I could create my own thing or sign with someone else or join everything together," Brandy declared. "But I really want to take my time with my decision because I'm in a great position right now. I have so much to talk about. I have so much to share. There are so many different emotions going on inside of me right now. [The songs] are going to be passionate, and people are really going to be able to hear that with the new album." And as for wedding bells, Brandy is taking her time with that as well (see "Brandy And Quentin Richardson To Tie The Knot"). "We set a date, but it's too hot in Phoenix for the date that we set," she explained. "And on top of that, we want to take things slow and get to know each other, because this is a relationship I really want to work." Article |

OH.MY.GOD!!! BRANDY, CALL ME!!!!! I have the show all planned out!!!
She can call the series, "Here We Mo' Again" Here's the plot: From where we left off on "Moesha," it was her pregnancy test that was found and she was pregnant for Hakeem. The relationship/family thing went well until Hakeem was killed in a tragic accident, leaving Moesha to raise the baby alone. Dorian will still be an aspiring rapper , Niecy will still be looking for love, Kim will still be in junior college (for the ninth year), Dee and Frank will be about to retire to Saturn Village, and WE WILL FINALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO MILES!!! Y'all like that, huh? :p |
:D that is the best plot line ever! LOL
