I've learned that the greatest cop-outs transfer readily to the online environment:

-"I was joking"
-Racial and/or socioeconomic slandering or oversensitivity (flip sides of the same coin)
-Post hoc or context fallacies
-Using old mistakes or comments to invalidate good points
-"Schooling" (better related as 'safety and insularity in numbers') instead of understanding or being inclusive
-Self-righteousness (or "I'm right because I'm right, and he agrees with me!")
-Straw-manning in 'issues' threads (we've had some good discussions before - but mostly strawman arguments, bickering, whining, and not listening)
-ad hominem
-CHOOSING THE TIME AND PLACE TO EXPRESS OR INVOKE: outrage, morality, virtue, the site's ToS, etc etc etc

I've learned that sugar and spice likes to claim her life is drama free when that is not entirely true.. :p

and some people are always so damn paranoid about new posters on GC. Some of these people then are down right rude to these new people. Get your stick out of your pompous a$$.

BUT, to be fair, some of the new posters are pretty awful. Most aren't. :) But one or two are awful.

I learned that other people's comments tend to occur for clowning purposes a lot more often now than before.

I've learned that 80% of all threads, no matter how serious and focused in the begining, eventually end up in name calling/spatting/back and forth chitchat (regardless of which forum it's in)

SOOOOOOOO 100% true!

I learned that their are CERTAIN GC'rs who are overly judgemental ppl who will bash you if your opinion, be it your own or anyones elses, does not agree with theirs and will get their other judemental GC'r friends to bash you too if you voice your opinion on issues. I also learned that their are quite a few on here that are great awesome ppl
and that our own opinion , liked or disliked, are ours and we should all still be able to co exisit as brothers and sisters on here no matter what we believe or tend not to believe!

You should see some of the ish she wrote on OTHER message boards regarding giving head and pillow humping.

I've learned that no matter what you post, there is always someone out there that is determined to skew what you've said, get irate, & misunderstand a good intention for something bad. I've also learned that there seems to be a clique in GC that is determined to take what is posted out of context.

I've learned that the world is round and it's not at the center of the universe.
