So, she said:

"Also a daughter of a GDI, actually 3rd member of my whole entire large catholic family to go to college all of my family, except me is greek."

But, she meant:

"Also a daughter of a GDI, actually 3rd member of my whole entire large catholic family to go to college all of my family, except I am greek. "

what can i say, grammer is not my strongest skill.

And i just wanted to say for anyone who wants to know. I have not give out my affiliation due to the fact that i have some desire to keep personnel Information Private. I have heard many people talking on this board about not revealing too much info about oneself. WEll i have choosen to do this due to personnel reasons. I hope that people can respect that i have a right to some privacy and will simply respect that.

Snicker. Sorry, I had to. There's a difference between grammar and basic writing skills and saying what you mean. In any case, as a so-called educated woman one would think it would be something you'd try to improve, as it sure doesn't make you look educated. If you're the first in your family to go to college, you'd think you'd be proud of that and try to act like it. I'm not a grammar whore, but grammar isn't even the issue here. Writing things that don't make sense, contradicting yourself, using the total wrong words. It's hard to take anyone seriously that does that. It's well beyond making typos and a few mistakes.

It's one thing to keep personal info to yourself, that's fine. But to not even admit what your affiliation is on a message board for Greeks is very fishy and makes you lose a lot of credibility. Especially when you've said things to contradict yourself.

I can totally understand not revealing personal info, but greek affiliation is not exactly very personal information. But between not revealing your affiliation and the horrid writing, a lot of people aren't and won't take you seriously.

Well, you're either blind or her. Lol. And i'm betting on the second one.

No one ever said she wasn't nice. Nice didn't have anything to do with my post. Didn't you read it?

This is, indeed, an odd statement in the context of the conversation.

Okay.....maybe you're right. I guess I don't really notice the spelling and grammar aspect of people's posts, I just pay attention to what they're saying. But either way, for all we know, is it possible that maybe English isn't Alpha's first language, or maybe she's struggled with reading and spelling since she was little, and she's doing her best? But that really has nothing to do with anything, this thread was supposed to be about helping Kelly with her rush problem.

HMMMMMM,

"Very Interesting"!

That is all.

AchtungBaby80 06-12-2005 04:46 PM

I want to know what happened with this rush situation.
