Recap

The girls got a Tyra mail challenge to meet these two ladies who talked to them about go-sees. The girls each got a list of ten contacts and they were given a driver and told to see as many as possible. They were told to be back promptly at 4:30.

They didn't show too much of Brittany's go-sees. They showed Kahlen fumbling questions and seeming "innocent" and they showed Christina staring blankly and not interacting much. Naima got strong compliments from all the contacts about her walk.

Then there was Keenyah, who got bratty in the "spirit" of competition. Naima arrived at a location before Keenyah did, and Keenyah rushed past her on the stairs and jumped to introduce herself to the client so that Naima had to wait. She did the same thing to Kahlen...they showed the two girls fighting at a door handle. Kahlen finally gave up and got back in the car to go to another contact.

When it was time to head back, Naima decided that she wanted to try to see all the contacts. She showed up 45 minutes late and got in trouble. Keenyah won the challenge and she chose Brittnay to go with her to an industry dinner party. Brittnay ended up "stealing the show" at the party and Keenyah was bitching that she shouldn't have brought Brittany and that she won the competition and there was no attention on her.

Then for their photo shoot, they had to go "kloofing" (hiking to the location) and make their own wardrobe out of grass, leaves, sticks, etc. They had to pose on rocks and look peaceful among the elements. Most of the girls struggled.

At judging, they made the girls critique each others photos to see what they've learned. Naima, Kahlen, and Christina were praised for their comments, Keenyah was taken to task for her personal (read: rude) remarks, and the judges felt like Brittany didn't learn anything because she just said she liked or didn't like the photos. Then they had to say who they thought was the most suited to win the competition and the least suited to win, which was very difficult for all the girls...especially Naima and Kahlen who said Christina is the least likely to win, even though they both like and respect her more than Keenyah and Brittany.

Then the judges commented on the photos. They singled Naima out again about her pictures and personality. They said that her pictures were beautiful but always shot 3/4 or profile. The photo from this episode was full-face and it wasn't very strong. They told her she needs to open up more and, when she talked about her life and not wanting to be the person from the past, the judges gave her props for showing her true colors.

Then judges deliberated...Christina and Brittany were bottom two. (Tyra told Janice to stop "frontin"...that she only likes Brittany because she reminds Janice of herself). Tyra told Brittany she needs to control herself and pay more attention durning judging; that she doesn't know anything about the modeling business. They told Christina the opposite...that she had a better understanding than many upcomming models, but that she comes off as cold and unexpressive. Christina is sent packing.

I can't remember what the scenes were for next week...
Can someone trigger my memory, please?

I totally agree. That shit prolly won't fly if she were to win the competition. Wouldn't you want to be liked by the rest of the models and not hated? I know it's a competitive market but you can do that without being a total 12 year old snot.

Besides that I just don't like her and I don't understand how the girls could have said that she'd be the best choice as winner.

Naima really does look like she came from outside space. I hope she doesn't win it.

I hope to see a Kahlen/Brittany final. I really don't have a favorite this season, it just seemed so BORING.

This leaves absolutely no suspense for the finale.

I'm curious still but NOT happy about a certain one STILL being there. After everyoen has seen the episode I'll go into more details on my opinion.

Keenyah was on my last nerve last night. Ugh! Everything she did annoyed me. I can't believe the judges didn't send her home last night. It bugs me that the judges harp on a contestant about something for weeks and don't eliminate her. They've told her for at least three weeks that she's getting model-heavy, but she keeps cramming food in her face and she doesn't know how to pose her body to hide it.

And about Naima: the judges tell her they don't know who she is and she won't connect to her audience...welllllllllllll, she's obviously connecting to some people seeing as how she's won the "CoverGirl of the Week" for nine straight weeks.

Plus, this is a modeling contest, not just a personality contest; look at Brittany...the judges tell her to tone it down and the one week she's not acting crazy, they send her home.

Keenyah should be GONE. If they were looking at personality with Britney, then why haven't they looked at Keenyah's? I think there's an ulterior motive for her still being there, but being GC, I'm afraid to flat out say it.

ASUADPi 05-12-2005 11:31 AM

I was shocked that Keenyah wasn't sent packing. I was appalled by her playing the racism card in front of the other girls. Now it's not to say that someone shouldn't be proud of their heritage but Niama is park Black too and Niama was such a bee-atch to her, trying to say that she isn't Black. Hello who are you to tell someone what and what not their heritage and ancestry is!!!!!!!

Plus, OMG I don't want to sound all "smarty pants" but how the HELL could they not know that 46664 was Nelson Mandela's number!!!! I know it. As soon as the number was read I was like "oh Nelson Mandela". I also have to agree with Brittnay's assesment of Keenyah. Keenyah was all hot to trot thinking she was the shit because she is Black and that she was getting all this attention from the locals (ie. them "welcoming her home"), but how could she not know who Nelson Mandela is or if he were alive or not. So I don't blame Brittnay for yelling at her, I just wanted too also.

I have a feeling in the end it will be Niama who wins (even though I really don't want her too, heck none of the girls really stand out to me in the first place). I would prefer Kahlen but she has absolutely no backbone. She still walks around with no self confidence, still thinking she isn't beautiful and that she isn't sexy. She is so introverted and reserved, I just don't think she will be able to handle being a top model. Keenyah is getting on the pudgy side and I have to agree with what others were saying, she has been warned time and time again to watch what she is eating but she is still downing the french fries and the chocolate. I don't like Niama's mohawk, that's so the 70's. IMPO.

I liked Brittnay (out of all the four left). I think it is totally lame that in weeks past they (the judges) were bitching and telling Brittnay to calm down with her personality but then they boot her last night because hers is dwindling but Niama's is stifled. WTF?!? It seems to me it would be easier to bring someones personality back that is dwindling then having to act like a therapist and try to bring out someones personality who has been stifling it for 8 weeks? Boy the judges weren't really using their brains. IMPO.

I would like to know what you think the ulterior motive is.

I don't think it's that strange that they wouldn't know that number off the top of their heads. When I first saw it, I thought that maybe it was a zipcode and they were returning to the States. Then I remembered the commercial and realized what the number was.

33girl 05-12-2005 01:13 PM

I had no idea that was Nelson Mandela's number.

Does anyone else think Janice was mighty pissed off at this decision and won't be back next season?

She might have been ticked, but I still think she'll be back next season.

BaylorBean 05-12-2005 07:58 PM

I totally agree that Keenyah should be gone. I was very surprised that Britt and Niama were in the bottom two. I really expected it to be Keenyah and Kahlen. I am hoping Kahlen ends up winning but I think that the final two are going to be Niama and Keenyah.

Anyone else feel that this season just isn't as exciting as previous ones?
