My grandpa got me a diamond braclet from Tiffany's. He thinks it's very important for a woman to have nice jewelry so every year for Christmas I get something really nice from there. Only me though, cuz I'm his favorite.:D

My Christmas season has just begun, as people will be trickling back from the holiday, it'll be Christmas for the next two weeks or so!

But so far, I've gotten:
~Handmade pink scarf from my best friend (and roomie for all 4 years of undergrad)
~Several CD's and a DVD
~An Amazon.co.uk gift certificate (I already spent it on two books and a CD)
~New coloured pencils
~Several Hallmark miniature ornaments (yes, I know I'm a sap)
~A black nightgown
~Pink and purple striped toe socks!!
~Gift certificate to Body Shop
~Box of European chocolate (mmm, one piece a day)

I spent Christmas here, in my tiny little Scottish town. It was really quiet, but I slept through most of the day as I pulled a muscle in my back. Happy Christmas to me. :( Oh well, New Year should prove to be fun!

ISUKappa 12-27-2004 05:10 PM

From Mr. ISUKappa:

* Harry Potter DVD (duplicate, which will be exchanged for the last SATC DVD set and be a joint Christmas/birthday gift)
* Pearl Earrings
* Pearl Jam greatest hits CD

From my parents:

From my sister who drew my name for Secret Santa this year:
* Shrek 2 DVD

From the ILs:

* Stable set for the WillowTree Nativity set

I think my dad took the cake, though. My parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this year. As a gift to themselves, they're going to Hawaii for a 10-day tour the end of January. Mom figured it wouldn't be that big of a Christmas for them since they're going on this big trip. Dad had other plans. He bought her a very nice cashmere sweater and a ruby and diamond bracelet.

And then he completely floored her by giving her a new wedding band set. Mom has had the same modest engagement ring and wedding band since she and dad were married. Over the years, the ering has had to be sized and re-sized due to her hands changing. Eventually, the gold on the band became too thin and snapped. She hadn't gotten around to getting it fixed yet, but was still wearing her wedding band. Dad managed to take it without her noticing, brought it to the jeweler in my hometown (the same one he originally bought her rings from) and picked out a brand-new set while having the stone in the first ring put into a very nice pendant setting. It was the sweetest gesture I think I've ever seen.

To anyone who got an ipod:

My bf searched and read around online and a lot of people said that the cassette tape that plugs into the ipod is better than the fm tuner for your car. Something about the radio signal and it changing while you're driving. He got me the cassette thing for Xmas and I used it yesterday during a long drive and it did sound really good. It can get really loud if that matters to anyone. Cause you have the ipod volume and your radios volume. It may be like that for the tuner thing though. Just a heads up :)

A Christmas Ornament
2005 Calendar
More writing material
Books

Thanks for the advice, but I don't have a cassette player in my car :( I haven't tried my FM transmitter yet, but I've heard mixed reviews. I have the one that charges your iPod while I'm driving and has a digital read-out displaying the station the music is being played on. I've heard that the quality of reception depends on the area you're in.

Has anyone tried an FM transmitter? Any reviews?

I have the iTrip and it's worked well so far - it comes set at 87.9, but you can change it to another station if 87.9 is a station in your area.
