As you say "stop making things up". Yes, they were silent. Nobody brought out Lynne Cheney to say "that's mean and insulting"- they had some low level spokesman for the campaign say they disagreed with Keyes.

No, they didn't and again, they weren't silent. The Democrats don't care whether or not she was insulted so I don't really see the need for you to lie here too about an event that is totally separate and irrelevant to this issue anyway.

that's what i was wondering. why would he bring up dick cheney's daughter instead of someone who supports his campaign unless it was for some twisted, weird political thing? it was just a bad move to mention her....he could have said, "i bet if you ask any homosexual individual, they would say...." blah blah.....but no, he had to go there.

He could have humanized it with the consent of a private individual, or by citing someone who is public with his or her homosexuality.

Personally, I think that this was a desperate, and not brilliant move on Kerry's part. Unlike all of us GCers, Kerry has access to accurate polling data. My guess is that he knows that everything is stacked against him, and that its looking like he'll lose by 10+ points.

I prefer diesel dykes- they're not affraid to go camping. Sometimes baby dykes too.

I truly think the point Kerry was trying to make is that a very close member to one of Bush's administration (which is for the marriage amendment) is of the homosexual persuasion. In turn, how can this administration turn their backs on such an issue when one of their own has a lesbian for a daughter? I think that's the point he was trying to make. He was pinpointing a flaw in their marriage amendment argument.
