To the rest of y'all--how come you left me and Pretty in here so long by ourselves with him????:D :D

Alpha Kappa Nu was the first "Black-sponsored Greek-letter organization" as it was founded in 1903. The organization died out because they didn't have enough people to continue. Our founders formed Kappa Alpha Nu after that in (as we all know) 1911.

All you had to do was ralley up the students. Instead they formed groups. Kept as a secret society. I mean that was nothing new. Blacks been doing it for years and until this day we still are. I think it gives much validation to the greeks that were founded at white schools because you had to bond it was only a certain amount of blacks there. At Howard, it was a bunch of blacks it was a black school. Once again, trying to seperate themselves. The car thing, have the mindset that of a person who wants and not need. After all you did want to be a Delta you didn't need to be.
Based on this line of thinking, there should never have been more than one fraternity and one sorority on any campus period because that would be dividing up the black folks into competing organizations. Also, why even have a fraternity at all, even on a PWI campus? That still is selecting some of the students to be in the group while leaving others out. Your argument about BGLO's on HBCU campuses does not feel thought all the way out to me.

Naw dawg, MadeNupe8 seems to me like he KNOWS his history of our frat, (and by "his" I mean mine and his) and he is on another level of interpreting things than what most of us (Nupes) are. I can feel some of the things he is saying, but me (as a Neophyte) may have to think about some of the stuff he is spittin for a minute to digest it. I appreciate other orgs too, but when older bruhs (no matter what frat) are speaking knowledge I tend to stand back in awe of the level that they are on as oppossed to myself. Just my southern boy humility kicking in. :D

if every old school bro had his mentality then black greek life would be in trouble

I can't believe he said we didn't need HBCUs, what if PWI's at the time of our founders didn't accept Blacks and most didn't where would our organizations be at HBCUs of course! Thank God for them,if there were not HBCUs ,there would not be many choices for Black College Graduates, then or now, It's a matter of choice- some choose HBCUs some choose PWI's but don't negate the necessity of HBCU's and their contributions to African American Life!

Oh my God, the chile dun gone MADD! You are crossing a very thin line, here. It is one thing to love your fraternity, but to talk about the founders of someone else's fraternity's makes you suspect. Certainly, had you done any type of pledging you would have known this was a big NO! NO! People that pledge know how dear other organization's reverance their founders. You have been brainwashed and hoodwinked about your organization. It has done nothing, that wasn't already done. As a matter of fact, your founders got the concept of Fraternity from Howard U. Read and learn your own history. You must not of known that two of your founders that were the precursors transferred from Howard to Indiana in 1910.

Don't think that they didn't get the concept of Fraternity from Howard, b/c in 1910 Alpha Phi Alpha was already at Howard, and Omega Psi Phi was in the formation stage. Alpha Kappa Alpha had already been formed, as well.

You know nothing about the founders of Alpha Phi Alpha - who were all family men and respected in their chosen professions. So to say that they defied what true men are is open ended ignorant statement that you need to explain.

Please don't assert that they were in anyway homosexual or something like that. Kappa Alpha Psi is the last fraternity that should ever talk about homosexuality.
You are foolish. READ LEARN COMPREHEND.
