I'm not sure. I saw previews for the all new Halloween special so it could be right after or right before. Then again, last years Halloween special debuted in November.

Smithers equates to Mr. Garrison (only less vulgar) as a gay cartoon character, but it would be too easy to make him come out of the closet.

This has to be someone who's been out of the spotlight for sometime.... Otto? Principal Skinner? One of Marge's Twins? How about Nelson (diverting all that aggression)?

This will be a mystery for a while...

Groundskeeper Willie? We don't really know TOO much about him. What about Moe?

I still think Moe is a very viable candidate. This would explain his annual suicide attempt around Christmas.
