Shaq, with his heavy, out-of-shape, hooked-on-phonics free-throw shootin' self, is STILL the game's biggest force-- you saw that in the 1st quarter of G4, when he was ganstering baskets like he was Al Capone. Detroit has NO ANSWER, NONE. Why this team, KB, in particular doesn't realize that and consistently feed the guy is beyond me.

It looks like LA will fumble away this title, and Detroit is there to fall on the ball. Enjoy it D-town, and let's see if you can back it up next year. But Shaq-KB's lil season-long cat-fight destroyed this team long before Detroit had anytyhing to do with it.

(as for abaici and 1savvydiva, yall is doing some major-league hating right up in through here.....please stop.)

I hate to say this, but you're right on point.
Memo to Kobe Bean Bryant:
POUND THE FREAKING BALL INTO THE DADDY or go home! I'm hot as hell about this series and such. I've not been posting because of my bewilderment, disappointment and anger.

LOL!! That's what I thought it was! Yep, looks like Karl will have to share his daughter's ring.

Last, I heard, he was still with the daughter.

From LA Times.com...

It Would Be Foolish to Let Jackson Go

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — For five seasons, he has been the Great Laker.

For five seasons, an unmoving force amid great change, even on those rare occasions when he actually stands up.

History will remember the last five Laker seasons not by one of the stars — what, and risk having the other guy sue? — but by the man who brought them, a team, and a city together.

This will be forever, and properly, known as the Phil Jackson Era.

Plaschke is right on. I hope that Dr. Buss is reading, but since the good doc is sooo obsessed with Kobe Bean, I don't know.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Phil signed an extension with the Lakers. That means his azz ain't going nowhere. Unless, he and Buss come to some sort of agreement to by out his contract. That would be a stupid move on Buss' part. I don't like the Lakers, PERIOD!!! But, if they don't win this series there will be some major gutting of this team. Pretty Ricky's gone, Fisher's gonna be gonna be gone and ofcourse Gary and Karl will join the Hall of Fame but no Ring fraternity. Currently Charles Barkley is Prez. LOL! Oh yeah, if Kobe ain't locked up he will be gone as well.

Contract negotiations between "Laker Head Coach Philip" and Dr. Buss were suspended midseason. Besides, Phil is the shack-up(?) male companion, or covivant, of Jeanie Buss, Dr. Buss' daughter.

Congratulations, Detroit. I'm glad that GC was down so I could calm down.

I don't think Phil's coming back at all; he has his 9 titles, he really doesn't have anything else to prove, and I'm not sure tying Red Auerbach's record is really all that important.

I'm wondering if Kobe and Shaq will be back...a big part of me says that Kobe's gone, that he'll want to be the one and only guy someplace else.

I still don't really think Shaq is tradeable. He won't take less money, and I don't know if Dr. Buss would be willing to carry a dead load of $$$ on his payroll.
Even though I'm a huge Shaquille fan, I do get weary of his bellyaching about his contract, but I see his point: how did Kevin Garnett get $126M and he hasn't won anything yet?

Michael Jordan wasn't the highest paid player during his hey-day. So, that means nothing. Shaq "ain't" going no where. I think Phil is out. Along with Karl (it's a shame he played his last game in street clothes), Kobe (if he is not in jail, he will exercise his option and bounce~I just feel that he's going to Charlotte), Gary is gone. I actually think Fish is questionable.

Whatever happens, next year is a rebuilding year for the Lakers.

I was very happy the Pistons won! They played very well.
