I wonder how grossly edited Coral's character is. You know they edit random clips together in order to make certain stock characters and produce interesting storylines. Even if Coral was really rude to Mike on a few occasions, if they put those few together on consecutive episodes, then she really looks like a b*tch.

In those post-interviews, people from past seasons always say they hated the experience after watching the show on TV because their characters were so manufactured.

Oh, and to whoever said Nicole was biracial.. then what's her whole argument with Malik about?? All it comes down to is that she wants the man - if it was a black girl I'm positive she would have something to say about her, too.

Well I guess I have waited long enough...

I really don't think Coral is as bad as everyone assumes. I have to agree with the above statement...have we seen how she interacts with everyone else in the house? Somewhat, but not really. What we DO see, she is NOT being a bia bia. Also, I think we are being guilty of the same thing that we are accusing Coral of; that is judging someone based on ONE incident (Coral has cut Mike short b/c of the breakfast incident, and we have cut her short b/c of her reaction). If nothing else, she just has an extreme character flaw which is her excessive pride and hard-headedness. As far as Mike goes, we can't try to forget HIS flaws in the name of justifying our anger towards Coral. I wonder if Malik had made fun of Mike's hair (wild blowed-out fro aside http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif ), or confronted him about his "freak panty-dropper" episode, would we be so condescending?

Nicole is a student at Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA. I met her during my freshman year when she served as a Resident Assistant in my dorm. She was cool then and she is cool now that she is on the show. Someone in another post stated that she wore too much make-up, that is always. Everything I saw her she had on make-up and some form of dress shoes or boots. She is representing the true BROWNITE spirit.

I'm the one who posted that both Malik and Nicole are biracial. I read it in their profiles on MTV.com. Nicole's profile stated that although she is biracial, she closely identifies with her African-American heritage. I interpreted that as she considers herself 100% Black, like alot of biracials. I don't think she should have a problem with Malik dating a white woman, if it weren't for an interracial couple, she wouldn't be here, but to each is own. Maybe, being biracial, she's gone through things in her life where she's had to prove how pro-Black she is.

She also has a 4.0 GPA as well as volunteers with disadvantaged youths in Atlanta!

If they cross, Coral won't make it out alive. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm sick of Coral. I'm just waiting for them two to get into it, b/c Coral knows good and well thaty she picks on Mike b/c she knows he can't and won't do or say anything to her about it...He's a pushover when it comes to her. I don't see Coral getting like that with Nicole or even Lori b/c she knows they will stand their ground. I wish (Y'all know, Ced's "wish factor", LOL) Coral would step to me with all that attitude--She would get st8 BROKEN DOWN--No Joke...

Here's a link to some mini-interviews conducted with the cast after the season was finished. It hints that Coral became involved with someone in the house and that Nicole left being friends with no one.

I felt as if the emotion behind Nicole's tirades at Malik and Kevin was based on her attraction to Malik, like someone said. The issue at hand is that Malik is pursuing other women...the fact that these women are not Black adds insult to injury for Nicole. She's very judgemental, and has strong unbending ideas on what it means to be "Black" in America, and demands that others fill this description.

I thought she was going to cry when she was jumping on Kevin...did anyone think that she just flew off the handle at him? Even Coral doesn't go off like that. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif Also, Nicole is burning some bridges with some of her housemates..."don't talk to me for the next six months!". No WONDER the E!online article said she didn't have any good friends in the house.

MeezDiscreet 08-08-2001 01:08 PM

[b]*this episode has brought out MeezDiscreet's extensive vocabulary*

although she presented a compelling argument (a man who wears an afro and a marcus garvey shirt can only date black women http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif ), i felt that she handled herself in a most disgracing way. for her to insinuate that, because kevin is not an African-American, malik shouldn't speak business to him is ridiculous. like kevin said, he and malik are FRIENDS. friends talk about their problems with each other. the purpose of the show is for people to overcome the contingencies of their backgrounds and connect with other people on a level that transcends race, gender, sex and class. by making every issue one of race, she is limiting herself as well as making herself, and her stay in new york, miserable. and, who does nicole think she is to be telling someone how to run their lives? and, to tell malik that she no longer considers him a "brother" because he dates women that look like her mother is absurd!

and on another note, i was speaking with one of my cousins who told me that she was about to have to give the real world up. she said, "every black person in the real world aint [biracial]." so true! see, they should have put mr. african mandigo on the show! lol!

blueberi1920 08-08-2001 01:15 PM

I think Nicole is wrong so what Malik has an afro and wears a marcus garvey, he should be able to date whomever he wants. She justs wants him, that's all.
Nicole needs to grow up that just because someone dates someone outside their race, (well not really because Malik was raised with his white side of the family) doesn't mean that they're not proud of their black heritage.
But why did she have to argue with Kevin and be all ignorant. She looked so stupid sitting there yelling and pointing and ol boy was being extra calm. And then she has to go back to 3rd grade and say I'm not talking to you anymore. Come on !

Did you see the look on Nicole and Coral's face when the guys brought all those people in the house? That's was comedy. I'm glad Mike got to vent to somebody.

Question: Why is that MTV typecasts most of the black people on RW as angry people who can't get along with anybody? (eg. David in NO (woo woo WTF), Stephen (slapped Lyme disease girl) The only person who didn't realy fit somehow into this was Teck from Hawaii and he was just an oversexed freak!
I think I'm going to write to the daggone show

sphinxpoet 08-08-2001 02:17 PM

What I found most interesting is that Nicole was trying to force her image of what a Black Man should be onto him! I was like WTF! Then turned around and was like she is not judgemental of people? Come on now! I think she has a great personality but she needs to understand she cannot define that for him(but I think a lot more black women do that then we think). But I think it is a matter of time before her and Coral butt heads on something.

but turned around and told kevin that he didn't understand something because he's not a black woman and doesn't know anything about it! how bass-akward, as my mother would say http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif
