WTF?!!

Hopper jack wouldn't be so bad if it was the other way around.

Jack Hopper Penn. See nothing bizzare about that name.

I think I'll name my kid 25.

There was Six from blossom. George on Seinfeld wanted to name their kid Seven.

But my kids name will be 25 not Twentyfive.

My cat's name is 20. Yes, he is orange, and Tony Stewart (driver of the #20 Home Depot Monte Carlo) is my favorite driver.

Insert redneck jokes [here] ;)

And yes, I will admit that we debated a long time when I was pregnant about naming our son - I really wanted "South" -- I think that is a great name. It would've been perfect for Eli too since he is a lefty, and baseball is life -- he could be "South - the South Paw" -- too funny!

33- can I quote you in my sig line -- that was fabulous :D

33girl 05-20-2004 10:12 AM

yes, feel free.

It's one thing to name your CAT something weird. I mean, Mr 33 always says when he has a dog he's going to name it Door or something like that. He would never do that to a human child though.

I have a friend who named her cat after the coliseum at Ole Miss; its full name is Tad Smith Memorial Coliseum but he goes by Tad Smith.

Celebs will always name their kids something a little odd. So what? She had her baby overseas. So what? Didn't cost any of us a dime. Hopefully no one's losing sleep over it.

Not that I would do it, but I think Apple is sort of a cute name. But I agree w/ Russ. If she ends up being fat (something I seriously doubt) her name will really suck for her.

Glitter650 05-22-2004 02:32 AM

Yeah if she got Gweneth's genes she will be bones (maybe they'll call her apple core ?) I'm sorry... but how could you subject your child to teasing like this about your name ? don't get it... if I was that girl from the moment I understood and could talk I'd be telling people to call me Allison or Blythe :D it's not the most HORRIBLE thing I've ever heard... I went to Jr. High with a girl named Rosemary Plant.... (not kidding)

Hrm...I don't know. Don't forget now, you all are quoting books. The only thing would be that the currently very popular and famous English chef, Jaime Oliver, named his daughters Poppy and Daisy. That's about it. According to The Mirror, the most popular baby names in the UK recently have been:

Top Ten Names for Girls:

1. Chloe
2. Emily
3. Megan
4. Jessica
5. Ellie
6. Sophie
7. Charlotte
8. Lucy
9. Lauren
10. Hannah

Top Ten Names for Boys:

1. Jack
2. Joshua
3. Thomas
4. James
5. Daniel
6. Lewis
7. Matthew
8. Luke
9. Harry
10. Oliver

I don't see "Apple" on that list anywhere....

Just a few comments from the peanuty gallary:

1. Gwenyth was born to celebrities-they are NOT in touch with "real people". She is a nice lady I am sure, but she really lives in lala land. She doesn't know how anyone feels.

edited b/c i can not find where I read about her going to school overseas, but I swear I read it somewhere.

I like Gwennie. I really really do. But she lives in lala land.:)

PM_Mama00 05-22-2004 10:59 AM

Brooklyn received a dishonorable mention. What's wrong with that name? I LOVE that name!

Glitter650 05-22-2004 02:12 PM

Actually I kinda agree with Gweneth ... I think Americans are a little over cocky/... especially in our current situation. I mean being patriotic is wonderful and great and I would never live anywhere else and I'm damn proud to be an American... but right now at least... I wouldn't go shouting from the mountain tops... but that is a totally different thread

2. Gwenyth was schooled in boarding schools overseas and speaks like literally 5 languages fluently. She is very good friends with the royal family of Spain. I believe it is very normal for her to live overseas now and not feel "American" particularly.

Boarding school overseas? I thought she went to Spence.
