Bringing this back to the top!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif It's almost summer time (even though here in NYC, NJ it's FREEZING) How is the weight loss going?
*TOTAL ELEGANCE* Girl...body solutions didn't do a ding dang thing for this sista. I'm glad it worked for you though. I'm back on weight watchers *the price went UP* http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif and I'm doing good. I'm also thinking about doing Pilates. I just want to drop like 15 pounds. Updates everybody...let's get the motivation going. [This message has been edited by toocute (edited May 18, 2001).] |

I've lost 10lbs in 1 month http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/cool.gif by cutting back on fried foods, doubled the amounts of vegetables that I eat, drinking PLENTY of water (Crytstal Light is a nice change too), limiting my sugar intake and working out 3-5 days per week. My new favorite cure for a "sweet tooth" is sugar-free Jello, topped with Lite Cool-Whip! Ania I feel you girl, when I first started out out, I couldn't walk on the treadmill for 5 minutes without getting "winded". And toocute I know what you mean about this "fall" weather we're having over here, brrrrrrrrr for May (59 degrees today)!
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!! [This message has been edited by buterscotch1 (edited May 18, 2001).] |

I tried the diet pill ADIPEX(generic name Phentermine) YES, THEY DID WORK! I went from a "snug" 12 to a "comfortable" 7/8 It took a little over 5 months. I was TOO HAPPY! Purchased a WARDROBE of the finest cloths, couldn't tell me nothing! The GOOD thing is that I kept the weight off for over a year..The VERY BAD thing is...All of those fine clothes that are hanging in my closet are TOO SMALL as of Today...Your Girl is "creeping" back to a size 12, I am too stressed about that. I have considered taking the pill again BUT THIS TIME I will ADD SOME PHYSICAL ACTIVITY so that it won't come back. |

This is a good topic for us to share tips, techniques, etc.
After having my second child, I had packed on a lot of extra weight. I don't know when it happened. It seemed like one day I woke up and was suddenly wearing a size 18. Last September, I joined Weight Watchers. In 8 months now, I've lost 55lbs. That's also combined with a good workout program. I walk for 45 minutes - 2 days a week and do Water Aerobics 3 times a week. Water aerobics is WONDERFUL. You get 2-3 times more strenuous aerobic activity than a regular indoor class, without the heavy bouncing and sweating. In my class, we monitor our heartrate. Mine goes up to 220 at the most intense part. I recommend it to everyone. This time of the year is great also...very refreshing to be in the water. I never had any "emotional eating" problems. I just like good food!!! Now, I've learned how to prepare really good food minus half the fat. I'm experimenting with new dishes all the time. Along with the changes I've made in cooking and eating, I COMPLETLY cut out SODA. Now when I taste it, I'm grossed out by how sugary that stuff tastes. I drink about 12 glasses of water DAILY. |
OOH YEAH!
WATER AEROBICS IS A GREAT WORK OUT AND IT IS FUN! THAT WEIGHTLESS FEELING IN THE WATER IS AMAZING (I NEVER KNEW I COULD GET MY LEG UP THAT HIGH http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif .) THE HARDEST PART ABOUT WATER AEROBICS IS TRYING TO PULL YOURSELF OUT OF THE POOL AFTER THE WORK OUT! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Has anyone ever tried Weight Watchers "Points" program? If so, what were
your results. I need to loose 20 pounds by August 18th and I want to do it without starving myself or drugs. |
Anybody tried that Subway diet? I eat them pretty much everyday.. not for the diet, but because I just like them. And to this broke college student, it doesn't hurt that for almost every 4 sandwiches you buy, you can get one for about $.96 (or however much chips cost with tax). Anyway, the guy on the commercials that lost all the weight said he always ate a sandwich with just vegetables for lunch and turkey for dinner... I'll never be a vegetarian, and ham kicks turkey anyday. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif Just curious to know if anybody's doing it.

I DONT HAVE AN WEIGHT PROBLEM BUT TO MAINTAIN MY WEIGHT I TAKE STAIRS WHEN I HAVE THE OPTION. I LIVE DOWNTOWN CHGO AND MAKE THE EFFORT TO WALK EVERYWHERE OR TO PARK MY CAR FAR FROM WHERE I AM GOING. NOW EATING THATS MY PROBLEM. SO I JUST TRYYYYYY TO BALANCE WHAT I EAT IF I EAT FRIED FOODS THEN I CUT BACK ON BREAD POTATOES AND DRINK TONS OF WATER( WATER IS YOUR FRIEND IT ALSO HELPS TO KEEP YOUR SKIN LOOKIN GOOD)BUT MY ONLY ADVICE WOULD BE TO BALANCE MEALS DONT EAT AFTER A CERTAIN TIME AND ALWAYS HAVE BREAKFAST AND SEVERAL HEALTHY SNACKS. THEY SAY THAT YOUR BIGGEST MEAL SHOULD BE AT LUNCH TIME. I HOPE THAT I HAVE HELPED SORRY IF I DIDNT.

I've lost a little over 20lbs since Janaury by just exercising and cutting down on my carb inatke. Lowering my carb intake has been hard because I am a carb addict. I just take it day by day. What else can you do? |

I wanted to add to my previous post that I do the previously stated things for me as a way of life and not just to lose weight. I'm not overweight at all but I've been doing those things for quite some time and it has helped to maintain my current weight, which works for me http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif! ------------------ #10 Sigma (Clark Atlanta University) Spring 1999 Currently: MAL, Southern Region [This message has been edited by DST Love (edited June 28, 2001).] |
Exercise, Exercise & more Exercise..
Consult a personal trainer and nutritionist... Count those calories and stay off scales for a while...... Stay away from mayo -eggs and oil Red meat-too much fat- eat fish, baked chicken breast Get lots of protein-helps you build musles Eat carbs-bread, pasta, etc- but not too much, they turn to fat if you don't burn them off... Too much dairy products-high in fat content No POP, drink water and more water... That 10% fruit juice is also not that good for you- too much sugar and mostly empty calories Low fat snacks- granola bars, rice cakes Fruits and vegetables.... A variety Do not starve yourself- chance are you will regain the weight within a few months of eating again! |

Has anyone ever tried the cabbage soup diet or mayo clinic diet. I have tried the cabbage soup it doesn't taste bad but it is only a quick fix. A few weeks ago, I started my own workout program, Taebo, pushups, crunches, etc... and I cook now with olive oil and eat only chicken (that's for now). One thing that my brother told me the other day is to watch the sodium intake because it only makes you retain water which leads to a lot of excess water weight. That's all for now ------------------ 29 Jewels of N.V. # 1 Delta Delta Chapter |
To clean the colon you can also get a colonic where they flush the colon with a solution and pull out the "contents". You have to go more than once thought because the first treatment only cleanses the first, like 1/2 mile of colon.
I tried it when I decided to stop eating meat and let me tell you...IT'S THE $HIT http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
