I would tell my parents for years that all I wanted for my birthday was a baby panda cub.
Of course back then I didn't know they were on the endangered species list :p |
A Go-cart!!
http://www.hanleycompany.com/images/go-cart.jpg Never got one though :( I'm still bitter. |
Braces-They said ...get this...my FACE would grow to match my TEETH! Real comforting to a kid.
However, they were right. Now I am known for my smile and people always say I have such beautiful teeth! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...y/biggrina.gif |

I always wanted an Easy Bake Oven too. Parents said no way. So I used to sneak into the kitchen at night and bake weird concoctions b/c I wanted to bake. I'm still surprised that they never broke down on that one.
One of my good friends really wanted a Light Brite and for some reason her parents wouldn't get her one. A few months ago she bought herself the Light Brite Cube. She is so happy with it and her parents still don't understand why she's obsessed. |
A Lite Brite. My mom said I'd eat the pieces and choke on them.
I finally bought myself one in college. And I put the pieces in my mouth. They tasted like candy. |
I have to agree on wanting a horse. I wanted one so bad from about 7 to 12, but alas I never got one!

I had the Lite Brite and was always loosing those peices! |
I think that my expermentation is why I am a good cook today. I figured it all out myself and instead of being limited to the weird mixes and the size of that oven I had a full size oven and everything!
Of course, my mom used to come out in the middle of the night cuz the smell of baking would wake her and I'd get a nice lecture :) |
TR3 or TR7??
Black and white sports car!!
That and a decent record (yes, record) player. |
dance lessons. Ballet or tap.
We were always moving with dad being transferred (USAF) that my parents kept saying NO :( wah!!!! If I weren't so "old" and "decrepid" I would take them now. |
This will date me but...
I wanted REAL Cherokee shoes, not knock-offs, and REAL Chemin de Fers, not knock-offs, but my parents refused to pay for either when there were perfectly good knock-offs, missing only the nametag (which was, of course, what really mattered). I'm still a little bitter about this.

I have two things:
1. An Atari - My brothers insisted on getting Intellivision (anyone else have this??) and my parents wouldn't buy a second game system. I wanted to play Frogger sooooooo bad. 2. A trampoline - My mom thought we would kill ourselves on it. If we got one today, it would probably have to be something like this. http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/74/57/54...66_500X500.jpg |
Oh and one other thing...a RABBIT JACKET!! Man, you just weren't cool in my elementary school unless you had one. :(
