I apologize for confusing you; I meant letters AND colors.

I understood his statement to mean a person is blatantly displaying the letters and colors without having earned them as a member of a BGLO. How many people wear colors like pink and green together or purple and gold aside from members of the org. Exceptions can be made for people who are hopelessly fashion deprived. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif By no means does this mean don't wear these colors at all but they do have a great significance to the people who have worked and continue to work hard in their honor. Now if the person just happens to be wearing a pink and green outfit and happens to have an AKA bag or some sort of para, that could be problematic if this person is not a member. Since we are both peeking over the fence along with other sisterfriends, it's hard to understand exactly how much love these women and men have for their organizations. Therefore, if displaying colors and letters inappropriately is cause for alarm in their community, I'm gonna back off from the subject.

I'm not getting in trouble today. Yall, it's pay day. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thank you my pussycat!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Hello All,

I am not a member of any BGLO, so I suppose I can only give a "outsiders perspective".
To reply to The Original Ape:

I would think that only if a person is actually interested in persuing membership in a BGLO, that it would really matter if they were to wear "Black and Old Gold", or "Salmon Pink and Apple Green" or "Crimson Red and Cream" or "Majestic Purple and Old Gold". Am I wrong? I think that there are people who are geniunely fashion disabled and would innocently wear these colors because they like them.
I hope I haven't offended anyone http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif:

Soror, back in the days when I was a GDI (well not really, I am a neo too) I attended a Greek Party that my school was throwing (very rare for my University to have an events sponsored by many GLO's). I was getting dressed with my friend at my apartment and I put on my blue jeans, a white top and a red sweater vest. (Yes I love America) I am always one to take fashion advice, and she told me to lost the vest. It covered me up too much and it looked sexy without it she said. I lost the vest. I have a great love for the cute cat Hello Kitty and the week before this, I bought a rhinestone Hello Kitty necklace and matching earrings. I of course had to wear it. I get to the party, take my jacket off and my jaw drops in shock. I realize that thanks to my friend, I showed up to a Greek party wearing blue and white and a damn cat on my neck and ears!!! I had no interest in Zeta Phi Beta so I was not doing this intentionally to get attention nor to perp. I wanted to go home. I told her that they will notice and call me on it when they show up. She responded, "They won't notice." Of course they will!!!! I told her. One mentioned that she liked my earrings and gave me a weird look. That's all that happened to me.
