With Kerry this far "ahead" this early in the season, I think the Democrats will have pleanty of time to "unite," and with confidence apparantely slipping and potential impending erosions within the GOP regarding budgets, deficits, etc., no to mention whatever the outcome of the George W. National Guard question, this could be a good old fashioned barn burner in November. What's interesting to me is that six months ago I wouldn't have given any Democrat a ghost of a chance. |

Then again nine months is a long time. |
True that, DeltAlum!
If our esteemed Commander in Chief, the "Shrub", is expecting a shoo-in Rose Garden campaign, he'd best watch himself, lest he get "Bushwhacked" by the Kerry camp come November! :D |

Is Kerry a shoe-in? Campaign Drama Rocks Democrats!!!
XXXXX DRUDGE REPORT XXXXX THU FEB 12, 2004 11:45:28 ET XXXXX
http://drudgereport.com/mattjk1.htm CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN **World Exclusive** **Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT** A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal. Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked. MORE A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head! In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.] The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT. This has already be combined with your previous thread on Kerry and Vets. |

My American Politics prof from last semester (also my advisor and my Kennedy Assassination prof) told us about this in class today. He was on the phone with the Boston Globe and heard the story breaking, so it's going to be in the Globe tomorrow for sure.
The guy taught at (and graduated from) the Kennedy School of Gov't, and he knows his crap, so I'll trust this is going in there. As to how true the allegations are, that's another story. And I would LOVE to see a Kerry/Clark ticket. |
<--btw officially retarded for only looking at the picture once
You have to give the GOP one thing, it is infinitely more organized. There are never 80 billion candidates running for the Republican nomination, rarely more than two. These candidates are all kind of running for themselves (and wasting money with a lost effort, as was pointed out about Dean) and not for the party. |
