JJ Becomes a Man part 1.--JJ's 18th birthday JJ Becomes a Man part 2.--JJ falsely gets arrested for robbery Crosstown Buses Run All Day--Doodah Doodah.--Michael protesting being bussed to an "all-white" school The Windfall.--James apprehends a bank robber and returns to the bank $29,000 and keeps $2,000 of it as a "reward" Thelma's Young Man.--Thelma is proposed to by a young Lou Gossett Jr. The IQ Test.--Michael intentially gets a low IQ test score b/c it is culturally biased. The Encyclopedia Hustle.--A blind man (Ron Glass of Barney Miller) cons the Evans family into buying overpriced black history encyclopedias. The Gang part 1.--JJ is forced to participate in a gang rumble and gets shot. The Gang part 2.--James and Mad Dog have a showdown in the courtroom The Matchmaker.--Florida tries to hook up Willona with a man at a wedding. The Man I Most Admire.--Michael considers writing a composition about James as the man he most admires Sometimes There's No Bottom in the Bottle.--Cousin Naomi has a drinking problem Florida's Big Gig.--James gets beat out of a department store job by Florida, who never applied Florida Goes To School. The Nude.--JJ is commissioned to paint a married woman nude for her husband's birthday (this woman is played by Betty Bridges, Todd "Willis Jackson" Bridges' real life mother). The Family Business.--James tries to make money by starting his own appliance repair business. 1st ep featuring Nathan Bookman. The Debutante Ball. (my favorite ep--see above. Note: Clarissa is played by Rosanne Katon, Playboy Playmate September 1978). The Dinner Party.--The famous dog food meatloaf/musical chairs switcheroo ep. The Houseguest.--James' relative comes to visit and has a gambling problem. My Girl Henrietta.--Henrietta comes to have dinner w/the Evans--pregnant!! The Enlistment. JJ tries to enlist in the army to help with the family finances. Thelma's Scholarship.--Thelma is given a college scholarship and is invited to join the Zeta Gamma Sorority as a token black. (Note: I'm surprised that NO ONE on this forum has mentioned this ep at all). The Lunch Money Rip Off.--Michael is being bullied by a hoodlum who keeps taking his lunch and milk money so he makes peace by inviting the hoodlum to the Evans' to stay the weekend. This is the famous "extended family butt whoopin'" ep. |

i saw my favorite episode last night on TV-ONE. it's the episode where jj does a portrait of ms. brooks (tha wiggler) , a very attractive and curvaceous (sp?) woman. i don't know why i laugh so much when i see this one, but i do. i think i get tickled when james starts snickering and florida imitates him. when the phone rings and its someone who thinks ms. brooks is florida, james' response just CRACKS ME UP..."HAYLE NO THAT AINT FLORIDA!!"

Gosh how did I miss this post! As much as I love Good Times, I love that show so much, I don't think I have a favorite episode I loved them all. I have the "first season" on DVD, I hope I can find the second one soon.:D :D :D

I can then clear the DVR of GT and have space to record Being Bobby Brown/The Surreal Life/QAF/ etc etc. :o YESSSSSSSSSSSSS! If I'm not mistaken, isn't there a movie coming out? :confused: I thought I saw something where old TV shows like Bewitched and GT were being made into movies. :confused: |

I love having TV One so that I can see Good Times....I can't even start to name my favorite ep, because they are all good to me, but one of my favorites is the last episode when they all et out of the projects.

I cant wait
I just watched the Aint She Lucky She Got Him marathon on TV1 I think. I FINALLY got the see the episode where Thelma married the football player. I never knew that J J was responsible for busting up his leg.
