Sorors, I still cry over the beauty of our organization. It still gets to me, especially when I get together with my line sisters. I love my AKA. |
Right after our big show on the yard, I went out to eat with my dad and some random girl congratulated me and I was thinking, wow, how did she know. Of course, I had been wearing my first of many pink and green outfits so obviously so deduced that I had just crossed. But then that Sunday marked the beginning of Health Week 2005 so I began the work of our lovely organization.

A few of us are getting together later this month and I already know it will be emotional. |
<<< Glad to know that I was not the only one with tears of joy on that lovely day!
The first thing I did was call my cousin soror! She and I met in 98(at a family reunion) and she walked with me during my entire journey. So for her to travel from Detroit to NC to do me the honor, I couldn't help but turn on the water works. I can't even put into words, the feelings I had while standing beside her and singing the hymn. |
First thing I did was cry. My mother, cousins and family friends that are sorors were there. I was so excited and cried until all 32 of my line sisters crossed over. It was a day I will never forget and Ive been lovn life in this Pink and Green World ever since.

Wow 5mo goes fast
Greetings Sorors,
Wow, well since I came into this wonderful sisterhood in Fall 05, and graduated Fall 05 things moved rather quickly. The first thing I did was CRY LIKE A BABY..I CRIED LIKE I WAS IN TROUBLE AND MY MOTHER WAS COMING TO GET AFTER ME!! I was so drained emotionally and had the crying headache..lol I went home and put on some nalia :) and skee-daddled myself to my boyfriends house to regroup and met up with my sisters later. Officially we had a forum on the black family, AKA-robics, We sponsered a family for turkey day and we sang x-mas carols at the nursing home where our Soror lives. Not bad for 2months, it was great! |
I can't believe I hadn't posted in this forum.
When I became an AKA...I cried and cried and smiled and smiled and smiled. It was one of the most beautiful and spiritual moments of my life! I will never ever forget it! Sorors seeing together is what really made me bawl! After that, I had to put my plates on my car because I had to tell the world...I GOT MY PEARLS!! A week later, I was at my first meeting voting for new officers! |
I asked..."Can I call you Soror now?" LOL
Then it was soror this and soror that. Hey soror. Yes soror. No soror. Then I came home and took a well deserved nap! Chapter meeting is in 2 weeks. But I did send a O.K. what can I do email today. :p |
I thought I posted in this thread, but now I can't find it.
The first thing I did was crack a smile. I mean, big GOOFY grin. I didn't cry, which is surprising. Very surprising. Then, I called my Soror Cousin who showed a little 9 year old "THE LIGHT". Then, I called my Soror Best Friend and gave her a crazy sounding Skeeee-weeeeee. LOL |
Well it's been awhile-but I remember going to dinner with my new line sisters that evening-and putting AKA plates on my car the next day!
