I told my boyfriend that I don't want to do anything. I'll probably be down to visit him that weekend, but only because that's the next weekend we both have free. I think Valentine's Day is stupid and commercial. If you love someone, you should tell them every day, not just one day... and definitely NOT in a way that involves all those flowers and chocolate and stuff. (don't get me wrong -- I love flowers... but it's commercial crap).

In a way, I'm scared to see what the day will bring. I've kind of had my share of uber-platonic friends coming out of the woodwork lately and professing their undying love. Oy.

To all of you who are going out with your girls, I know it doesn't feel great but it just means that you're surrounded by 5x more people that love you....

And who knows? There's gotta be a guy somewhere feeling just like you ;)

I'm giving all my friends cards, and hoping he doesn't call.

I'd actually love to be alone Feb. 14th.

I will be spending VD (which is what all of my roomates and I call it too!) working. Luckily I work at a day care at a country club, and will work "Parent's Night Out" from 7pm-Midnight. So I'll get to spend the night making little valentines crafts and playing sports with a bunch of cute little kids, which will hopefully keep my mind off the disastrous VD 2 years ago that permanently ruined 2/14 for me.

Since my girls and I have no men but we do have each other, we're flying to L.A. for NBA All Star Weekend. I'm so excited; I've never been to the West Coast before....

The group I belong to at church will be hosting a Sisters' Appreciation Night so I'll be going to that I think.

ha! Hootie I totally support that idea. On the Valentine's Days when I was single, I used to plan girls' nights with all my other single girlfriends. Last year I actually had a Ladies Only Valentine's Day party on the 13th since V-Day was on Friday it worked out perfectly -- both single and attached girls got to come and hang out. I'd do it again this year but I'm moving and my life is too chaotic right now. :(

This year I have big plans for my man. I'm surprising him with a trip to a men's salon where he can get pampered for a change -- he's getting a hot lather shave, a haircut, and a "business manicure." Thats in the afternoon. He's taking care of dinner and afterwards we are going to see a jazz performer he likes who is in town. I've made all the arrangements for this in January so I'm really very excited that Valentine's Day is almost here.

NOt only will your man like that..but if i were you i would like that!

I can't see my man over vday..going up to visit him this weekend instead though to celebrate. I graduated before him...and vday is over a big holiday weekend that alums don't really attend which he will just want to sit around with the frat boys and drink out in the snow...so i gave him that time as long as he gives me this weekend!!! I can't wait to see him..long distance sucks.

PrincessHeather 02-04-2004 05:51 AM

my boy and I are going to my big sister's wedding.

A few other sisters will be there too (some in the wedding, some just attending). I am excited because this is my first valentine's day with my guy and my first wedding! Yes, I know I am 22 years old and I have never been to a wedding. Lame. Very lame. But how nice that it is for my big sis! I love her, and I am happy I can spend the day with the guy I love everyday not just on the 14th.
