Start your own then. :) And hey, it no-one comes... it's your party and you can cry if you want toooo. :p

You're on too much when...

You leave the Gulf of Mexico and a white crushed shell beach to check if you have new messages or asinine posts to read on GC ;)

P.S. Hi!!!

When you have so many GCer's on your buddy list that you don't have room for 'real' friends and start thinking of making a screen name just for GC Chats......(no I haven't done it....yet...)

When you see J-Lo's cologne in the store called GLO and you automatically think Greek Letter Organization.

Definitely it's using usernames off GC. I do that...my husband will say, "Where'd you learn (insert latest news)?" and I say, "AXO Alum" or "justamom" and then I have to refresh his memory as to who they are in real life.
That happens to me too. I'm always telling my boyfriend, "They said..." and he's like who are "they?" And I say, you know, the people on that Greek message board and he goes, "Oh Lord, you're a dork."

Also, you know you're on GC too much when you get annoyed because you actually have something to do at work (which doesn't happen very often) and it cuts into your GC time.

ThetaPrincess24 04-29-2004 05:37 PM

You spend too much time on GC when you bend over backwards and what not trying to meet as many GC'ers as possible(basically where you live and anywhere you tend to travel to), pretty soon all you date or try to date is from GC(no matter how far away from you they are), and thus your life apparently revolves around getting on GC or GC in general.............*off my soapbox*.

Dislcaimer: I apologize if this has been stated previously, but I'm too lazy to read through pages of posts to find out.

You know you are on GC too much when you are at a DAR meeting and mention, "Honeychile, said this" and "Honeychile, said that" and you realize that the ninety-year-old women think that you are calling them "Honey child.":D

Your husband makes you give up GC for Lent, cold turkey; and your sisters wonder if something is wrong. :(

You GC when your dissertation is due.

You only notice the trash needs taking out when the can next to the computer is too full.

When you know real names and email addresses of GCers, or when you are even on the same campus, or even work together, and your first thought when you have news of any kind is "I need to go PM honeychile, ZTALUVBUNNY, pirepresent and adpiucf....."

When you're expecting PM's more than you're expecting emails.

When you've recruited at least 2 GCers to come work with you.

When you have friends in your town sitting by the phone to hear about recruitment yet you feel obligated to let GC know what happened first...

When you refer to it as GC in real life instead of GreekChat.

hahaha... I just saw this, and it reminded me of something the ATO chapter at MIT did one year during rush. There is a Sheraton in Boston, right across the river from campus, that has a big "SHERATON" sign that is lit up at night. The ATOs shorted out the S, H, E, R, and N. Great advertising. ;)

ok... </hijack>

You know you GC too much when...
You use "GC" as not only an acronym for a noun but also for an action verb!

Yup. MIT has a tradition of "hacking" which includes pranks such as putting a campus police car on top of the Great Dome, redecorating the main lobby to look like a cathedral, etc. GLOs generally don't get involved, but ATO apparently borrowed a page from the tradition.

One of the rules of hacking is that you must do no permanent damage. I would hope that the ATOs honored this and left the short-outs easily reversible.

...the BF is begging for attention and you tell him to hang on because you haven't checked GC in 3 days. :)

This reminds me of how the Theta Chis at UCLA changed the Hollywood sign to read "GO BRUINS" during Beat '$C week my senior year.
