I know people like to think that in that magical time before Roe vs. Wade that women did not have sex before marriage or married women never tried to limit the number of children in her family. But lets face it...people ("loose" or not) were having sex outside the bounds of holy matrimony, in every culture on every continent within every regilon through out history...people had sex!
It's as natural as being born, eating, taking a poop, and dying. Human kind has natural needs that instinctively drive us. No papal bull, fatwa, or holy decree from TV will stop people from sastifing said needs. Not everyone has or wishes for the will power to stop their natural urges.
To think that women are going to be any less or more concerned with sex because the morning after pill is OTC is like saying if we cut the price of cigarettes more people will smoke! By taking away a barrier to acess does not instantly mean the number of users will increase nor does it mean a direct increase of frequency of use. If anything, its a relief that acess is easier because it should prevent more invasive or potentially harmful procedures.
America has to face it, we are a secular country. We were formed for human rights. A female citizen of the United States has a right to freedom and happiness. And if her freedom and happiness does not fall under your moral standard...its not for you to decide what is right for her. Last time I checked, my eggs are not citizens of the United States...I am.
If we were to ban all forms of birth control...do you know who would be "punished" more than the "loose women". Women like you. Loose women will have sex, birth control or not. Women like you who are generally responsible and respect themselves, but sill have accidents and are mortal and human....they will be the ones who are hurt the most by denial of birth control. These women are your sisters, you friends, aunts, mothers, cousins, etc. Even married women are hurt if they don't have birth control...even more so than non-married women...because they are required to up hold their marital duties (ei sleep with their husbands) on a regular basis. I plan on having 3 to 4 children, but if I can't handle it financially, emotionally, etc...I would like to still be able to sleep my husband without negotating. And really, do you really want extremely morally degenerate people reproducing and rasing children? Do you really want another child to be born into poverity? Do you really want to see another girl have to put aside her dreams to raise a child on her own?
In this day and age, with the world teetering on over-population we need to think to the future and how to perseve a decent way of living.
Stand up for the rights of your sex! Even if you are against abortions/birth control personally...do it for other women. Let them be free to decide what is best for their bodies!!!
