I disagree. IMHO based on what I've seen of these threads, those claiming to be liberal on average post more responses than conservatives and are much more vehement about their POV.
See there is the thing. Stuff conservatives say you see if right and not so bad. But stuff liberals say u are like ewww. I see some of the stuff conservatives say as pretty bad but obviously they see it exact opposite. I know better than to think one side is more mean or vehement about their POV. Like imsohappythatima I agree it is pointless to argue but as long as there are politics people won't be able to hold back how they feel because politics is a touchy issue. I don't think in either case people try to cause drama it just happens. Thats the risk of a message board.

I understand your point, but the above comment is taking too much liberty with what *I* think.

Since I'm deliberately avoiding details to stem the hijak, I don't think you're in a position to judge what I think and what I read, and who I interpret posts, especially since I haven't posted specifics.

Unless the above quote was another generalization at which point we'd agree to disagree. :D

My point is not to throw the word 'morons' around so loosely because it is insulting.

If I had seen the 'conservative idiots list,' I would have written the same comment about the word 'idiots'.

ETA: Cream, by that rationale, Bush is off of the Conservative morons list, as he is an Ivy League alum as well.

I just really can't stand the name calling and insulting rhetoric in politics in general whether you are liberal or conservative, a Democrat or a Republican.

Regarding leaving President Bush off the list, I never would have made such a list at all. I am a fan of politics and the political process.

No,

You asked for reasons hoping to paint her as an ignorant conservative, who paints liberals with a wide negative brush for no other reason than their political affiliation.

By your continued posting on this thread, you have proved imsohappythatima's(heretofore referred to as Happy for brevity) point. Happy's point that those holding liberal's POV reply more fervently and vehemently than conservatives is right on.

I see a thread entitled, "Top 10 conservative Morons" and figure that anyone that would post in it is going to see the world in Hippie-tinted glasses and conclude that my opinions would be, let's say, less than welcome.

Some of you liberals see a thread entitled "Top 10 Liberal Morons" and the scabs on your bleeding hearts rip open and you feel the uncontrollable urge to venture into our thread and spread your left wing, tree-hugging, pinko, commie beliefs.

We don't "soil" your threads with our ideals, please don't drop your trash in ours.

The only caveat, of course, is a thread with a neutral topic, such as Gun-Control, Abortion, the Death Penalty, tax cuts, etc. where the topic itself is not a party stance, and discussion from both sides is what the poster intends.

RIGHT ON!

Betarulz! 12-12-2003 02:17 PM

In response to the fact that the Liberals supposedly "more fervently reply". I posted on to this thread b/c some people here had posted blatently fictional information.

I am not going to allow others to get away with posting things that are not true, when I know they arent'. If you are not going to at least check the validity of your statements than I have every right and perhaps a duty to refute lies.

I would have never replied to this thread if people had not posted blatently erroneous material due to their partisan blinders.

Betarulz,

Thank you for so demonstrably proving the point(s) that Kitso and I were making.

That's hilarious. Should I have checked my facts with the New York Times? (or some other liberal leaning publication?) lol.

When the conservative idiots thread starts using non biased sources, let me know. haahahah.

UKDaisy 12-12-2003 09:26 PM

This thread has turned evil. Since I'm posting in the horrible anti/pro Brit thread, I'm afraid to post here :(

Although, I am really enjoying the conservative comeback! ;)

damasa 12-13-2003 02:37 PM

In truth anyone on this list or the list of Conservatives (or any damn Democrat or Conservative) can be considered a moron for many different things. Let's all remember here that it can be based simply on opinion - we all have a right to that.

But it cracks me up how some people on this thread keep going at eachother when you aren't changing views anyway.

Who cares if there aren't reasons as to why these people are idiots or morons - people are entitled to their opinion. Just let people think they way they want. If the Conservatives have stayed out of the other thread the Liberals should try to stay out of this one and respect the opinions reflected in this thread.

Anyone who could attack or degrade another for political views could be considered a moron. (Hell I can be considered that by just calling other people morons for attacking eachother.) ;)

You know what though? All the people on these lists are Americans, forget about politics.

- A Liberal telling the other Liberals how it is and to leave this thread alone.

No particular order, just the first ten that have entered my mind:

1) Howard Dean
2) Al Gore
3) Hillary Clinton
4) Bill Clinton
5) Al Franken
6) Paul Patton(former governor of Kentucky as of this week)
7) Gray Davis
8)Al Sharpton
9) Barbara Streisand
10)Alec Baldwin
11)Nadine Strossen (president ACLU)

okay so maybe that's more than ten :)

Please, my friends, cease this harassment of Al Franken. He says he hasn't been paid for a long time by Air America, and probably won't be if they file for bankruptcy Friday. Turn your attention to Jesse Jackson - left off the above list of 11 surely in error.

I'd like to nominate Bill Maher and Keith Olbermann, unbiased my ass. "Bush went political with his 9/11 speech..." Oh, I'm sorry, I thought we HAD TROOPS THERE, I didnt know the subject was simply political talking points...Olbermann actually had the audacity to say something along the lines of Bush using 9/11 to ignore the tragedy but advertise the war that is his sole creation. Maybe he didn't catch the congressional vote.
