Right. The Grammys are all about industry recognition. (A committee votes on the nominees, and then certain members of NARAS votes for the winners, which are announced on Grammy night. I'm interested in this stuff, lol) The AMAs and the Billboard Awards are more about airplay and sales. (\PSA: Which is why Kanye needs to get off his high horse and STHU! B/c although his album was well received by certain music listeners, Gretchen Wilson's album did more numbers and got more airplay. Hence, if you really like the burned copy of a cd, support the artist and purchase it. /end PSA, lol!!)

1. Soror Alicia Keys DID THE DAYUM THANG!! She is so beautiful. I can do without the boots though. 2. "Sweet Home Alabama" is THE JAM!! 3. I think I can do without Dana Owens. 4. HEY BEE and JAY!!!! *waving* She looks gorgeous tonight. 5. Is Crucial the guy that she has been dating? She has always hinted that she dates a fellow producer. He's a cutie. 6. The guy in the picture with Jill Scott in the News thread is Lyzel. They showed him sitting next to her. Somehow, I thought (like most of you) that Lyzel was taller, finer, darker, and more handsome. :confused: *shrugs shoulders* |

Not feeling Eve's hair. I wasn't feeling that foolishness she has on for her performance with Gwen Stefani either. :rolleyes: My abs wanna be like Sheryl Crow's abs when they grow up. Ashanti looks awkward in that dress. Is Usher bringing back the Mr. T look with all those chains? Jermaine Dupri looks 100% better without the braids. His eyes are still wopped, but he looks decent with a good haircut. Again, Beyonce looks great. Does Mario have on makeup? |

I did not like the Grammy's this year at all. I think this had to do with the fact that the majority of the R&B and rap awards are given out BEFORE the ceremony even officially starts. The only performance that I truly liked was Alicia & Jamie's. I had a better time watching the pre-shows. Did anyone see the E! pre-show with Star and notice that BGA was standing right behind her during the ENTIRE three hours? No one's going to steal her away. I thought Beyonce and Christina Milian looked beautiful tonight. Especially since Beyonce finally had a decent hair style, unlike Kanye. Have to also give a fashion shout out to HOVA and John Legend who were both on point with their outfits.

Queen Latifah did well on her song. I wondered why her album wasn't nominated for something. It was good. I wish some of the other artists could have won something like Anthony Hamilton. I really love John Meyer. I enjoyed Kanye's speech. It was funny, yet heartfelt!! I enjoyed A.Keys and Jamie Foxx. He really can sang!! |
