Has anyone tried the new Ocean Spray drinks with splenda???
I had it the other day and it was AWFUL! Far more sweet than the original drinks, and a worse aftertaste than nutrasweet! 40 calories/glass and drastically fewer carbs is great and all, but I think I'll stick to water... |

I've had other things with Spenda that stated much better. I actually have Splenda packets for tea and coffee in my home, and I think that it does taste better than nutrasweet. |
Atkins Diet May Help Kids With Epilepsy

Congratulations on your weight loss, Russell.
I was on Atkins earlier this year and lost 12 pounds. I no longer religiously follow the diet, but I still try to eat lower carbs. I didn't gain any weight. In fact I continued to lose. :) |

You do have to be willing to live low-carb for life; not induction low, but pretty damn close. I was up to maybe 30g carbs a day when the weight came back as fast as it went away. Right now, I eat whatever I want, just in small portions. I've lost 15 lbs and the weight continues to fall off. |

I'm not saying it is or it isn't but I think diets work differently for different people. My godmother was on atkins and she lost a ton of weight. She is still losing. This low carb diet worked for her. On the other hand my dad went on a strictly vegan diet and he lost a ton of weight even though practically all he was eating was carbs. I think the best thing for any diet or weightloss regime is that the weight doesn't come off too quickly. |
I'll tell you what the best diet is... One that you can keep yourself on, remain happy, and get proper nutritional properties. The "new" Atkins seems to be a lot better. It hosts Whole Grains, fruits/veggies, etc. This works. I am against eating a bunch of white bread also, I think it is bad to overindulge in anything. I just think there are a lot of people mis-understanding what the Atkins is all about, therefore not receiving their proper nutritional requirements. If you are getting a balanced diet, getting the nutritional requirements you need, and living a life that you enjoy, then rock and roll, get some exercise and you are cool. Moderation is key, do not eat too many carbs, do not eat too many meats, do not drink too many sodas, do not eat to many apples. ANything in excess is unhealthy, One or two will not hurt, in fact, they are healthy. Be moderate, be smart, be happy, and be healthy. All 4 are important. I have done some recent research into the Atkins, nad it apppears, as I said above, that the revamped version is much healthier. Stay natural, stay moderate. If the new Atkins is your deal, rock on, but make sure you understand it. You cannot just sit around and eat sausage sticks and drink half & half. That is suicide. It sounds like russellwarshay knows his stuff, am I making sense russ?

What a huge change from the days when you were POSITIVE that all Atkins eaters were OCD.

Well, that is before I had researched the diet in a more professional manner. Thank you for pointing out my ignorance;)
