Jenn......
clean out your PM box please |
Done sorry!
|
I sent my paperwork in yesterday. Here's to hoping I'll hear good things!
|
Good luck during your search.....I'm sure you will find a home with many wonderful women. Keep us posted!
|
Keep us posted! When did you have the baby? What did you have?
|
I had a baby boy on September 12, which is the primary reason I just sent the paperwork in. Everything is backlogged!
|
Congratulations on both fronts - your new little one, and moving forward with things. :)

Shot down again.

 I'm confused. So the group you sent the paperwork to turned you down? :( What was the "paperwork" for? Most paperwork is an application to join and applictions to join are supplemented or signed by a sponsor. If you had both of those things then I don't see why they'd turn you down. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Was this "Ann Taylor"? Are you still in contact with the other two groups? .....Kelly :) |
Kelly
I know that the paperwork that I've been asked to send it, is for introductionary purposes only, so perhaps she was speaking about that? I don't know jenn will have to say specifcially. gwyn Quote:

No it was the application for membership. I was told if the paperwork was approved they would work everything else out.
I haven't heard anything from the other groups for the longest time. I think the leads there are pretty much dead. |

That just doesn't seem right, though! You shouldn't be sending in paperwork at random unless you've met their requirements. The way you'd know if you met the requirements is if you had a sponsor who was able to help you know if you're measuring up to the process. I guess I can't really say for sure since I don't know which group you're refering to, but they shouldn't have told you to send it in and then, if approved, "they would work everything else out". That gets the candidate's hopes up! And now you're disappointed. In my own experience, one sorority sent me the paperwork waaaay early in the process before I had even gotten a hold of the alum association. The guidelines VERY CLEARLY state: Step 1 - AI fills out the application Step 2 - The alum sponsor(s) write a recommendation supporting the candidate and send forms and app to the HQ Step 3 - The HQ AI committee completes a check to make sure the requirements have been met and an Executive Board vote is issued regarding the AI Step 4 - The collegiate chapter in question votes on the AI Step 5 - The collegiate chapter and HQ work together to set and initiation schedule. So, it was very clear to me that I was not eligible to send the paperwork until it had passed through a pre-approval from the alum association. Even then, it was not me who was doing the sending! In the case of the other sorority I was working with, they interviewed me until the cows came home, extended membership to me and THEN gave me the application. That is, I got the application AFTER the regional coordinator said that she felt I was a suitable candidate and that XYZ would love to have me as a sister. What happened to you was uncool. Kelly,
I thank you for your enthusiasm, but I'm not upset at the org. I did what they told me to do, I sent in paperwork, met with alumna, and it didn't work out. I would have been thrilled to be member, but that's not the way it's working out. I need to sit down and look at the other orgs I haven't contacted and see if anything pops. I'm sure it will. |
hey jenn,
sorry to hear things didn't work out. i know i am a little late, but i didn't notice before that you had a baby! congrats on that! i am sure he is keeping you busy. |
I am sorry to hear about what happened. I sincerely hope that one of the other groups will come through.
