It's 10:30 and I still haven't heard anything , I'm nervous.... maybe they didn't like me.... I'm not sure what to think.... I'm guessing it's not good... , unless they didn't decide today ....

texas*princess 10-28-2003 02:20 AM

did they say you would be contacted regardless of what their decision was?

I personally would perhaps call the person in charge of recruitment and ask if they are holding any more events in the near future, and maybe she will shed some light on the situation? If anyone feels this might be an inappropriate action to take, please correct me :)

I'd give it at least through Tuesday before following up. I'm not very patient, and I've messed up a few times by not just giving someone another 24 hours because I couldn't stand the wait!

Well Ladies, I talked to my friend today, and she told me that the girls thought I was really cute and sweet, however I need to work on my gpa and bring it up, but she said I could go to some more events they are having... and try cob again in jan. if I'm interested , I let her know I really am interested and I was just wondering if they didn't like me or what it was... , I wish I had been called regardless... but at least now I know what I need to do, so I'm going to keep at my grades and hopefully next semester things will work out for me... I'll keep y'all posted.

You can work on grades - "cute and sweet" don't come as easily! ;) Just think of the incentive you have now!!

lil_princess05 10-28-2003 07:42 PM

Do they use your overall GPA or the one for the previous semester? Was it the minimum? or less? I don't want to run into the same prob.!!

texas*princess 10-28-2003 11:30 PM

i agree w/ honeychile! please don't give up hope on finding your home!

many GLOs would love to give bids to women, but end up not being able to because of grades. it isn't meant to be hurtful, but instead to help you. school comes first because without university, sororities wouldn't exist in the first place!

i sincerely hope you have an awesome rest-of-the-semester and that you will pursue COR next semester :)

raiderchic482 10-29-2003 12:30 AM

Thanks Ladies :) I'm keeping at my gpa..., I wish it was my gpa from last semester I made a 3.0 , but unfortunatley the previous couple of semesters weren't super great so my gpa is blah... , it's your cumulative gpa... , which is why it's slowly going up, but I'm working hard.... hopefully it will be up enough for me to Cor successfully next semester. my spirits are still high, eventhough last night I was going bonkers not knowing what was up... I'm good now that I know what's up.

raiderchic482: I am proud of you! Keep working on your grades and show them how dedicated you are. You have a wonderful attitude.

lil_princess05: Every sorority has different requirements, but keep those grades up as they are important to all chapters. :)

mmcat 10-29-2003 08:27 AM

ditto....
work hard and get the grades up and see what develops.
sounds like you made a good impression.

heaz 10-31-2003 10:52 AM

It sounds like they really liked you, most sororities are not allowed by there advisors or nationals to take below a certain gps, and is not in anyway a reflexion of how the group liked you as a person.. Dont get discouraged...Did these cob events make you want to be part of that group ?? Now that they know you it should be easier next time !!

sairose 11-01-2003 04:06 PM

Raiderchic,

Girl, I'm so proud of you. Just work on those grades and everything will be okay. :) They liked you...plus you'll still have the rest of this semester to hang out with them.

Good luck!

:D :D :D

HotDamnImAPhiMu 11-01-2003 08:25 PM

raiderchic482, you're fine -- if your GPA from last semester was a 3.0, you've got your stuff together and I know you'll do fine this semester, too.

Don't worry about it, it's all a matter of time. :D

raiderchic482 12-01-2003 03:48 PM

Hey everyone it's been ahwhile since I last wrote, I've been working at my grades, and finals start next week, yuck! I hope I do well enough so that my grades aren't going to hurt me in spring rush, I found out today from an e-mail that spring rush is going to be the first week in february, and that an info. session is the last week in jan. and I'll find out then which sororites are having informal rush. I just thought I would update y'all. : )
