Well, interesting things happen when I'm away from GC for a few hours.

So, let's see if I'm understanding the original topic of the thread. Is it that since some people seem to get away with breaking the rules, we all should?

Or, is it that many would like to see the rules more strictly enforced? That would take a large percentage of the posts in the entire forum offline because of sexual conotation. (Yes, that is in the rules)

Maybe it's that everyone who disagrees with me (the universal me) should be banned -- and every post I don't agree with should be deleted. That would shorten the forum and save a whole lot of disk space.

How about, if you know the right computer tricks, you can beat the system?

Here's my take on this:

Anything without rules results in chaos. But, rules can be interpreted and, hopefully, liberally (no, I don't mean that politically) enough to allow us to all act like the adults we think we are.

The thing that I dislike most is any kind of uncalled for personal attack. If I ever get to the point of recommending someone is banned, that will be the reason.

That can be difficult and I have been guilty myself in retaliation, but if we really are adults, we can probably succeed.

And I kinda agree and disagree on the topic. People like Sh80 who come "clean" so to speak, I think it's awesome that they come back and become great members of GC. I wasn't around for Sh80, but I know her posts are cool now.

On the other hand... Yeah I think it's ridiculous that people keep gettin banned, then come back, and get banned again.

I think it's even more ridiculous that there was an outburst of multi-personality-names (or whatever you would call it).

This isn't English 101. Decadence at least writes in sentences and understands capitalization and punctuation.

If you object to reading that much, don't. Buy the Cliffs Notes or whatever.

There's a difference between content and style. You decide which is most important and read what you feel is important.

But besides that, I see it like this: people type whatever they want. If it's bad, it gets erased. If its repeatedly offensive and the right people complain, they're rerouted (sorry no one on this site is banned) until they rack their brains for a newer, cooler name and someone else to harass on GC. If they continue to be an idiot, the process continues.

Yes, talking about things would probably get some stuff resolved. Unfortunately that is something most people here do not want to do. It took me 4 months to get someone to notice that a certain mod was actually someone's service fraternity sister with a different name.....


One other thing- from what I understand it's not really by choice that people aren't concretely banned- correct me if I'm wrong but I thought John couldn't ban IP addresses, meaning someone on the same computer can keep coming back again and again. If that's true, there's really nothing he can do.

It's about 2:30AM and I just got home and loved the Yankees game. The last thing I will do is read volume A of the Encylopedia Britannica.

i like when people use the word "harassed". how can someone do that on a message board...? especially a board with an IGNORE feature.

and yes, people are banned. i was gone for about 8 months until i asked john if i could come back.

did i come back during that time? nope.

did i create a new name in that time? nope.

i think you shoulda got a temporary ban when you flipped out on me calling me "piece of **it" and "f this and that".

anyhow, you know whats alot more pathetic then coming back over and over on a message board...? when certain users go to exotic places...uhh let's just say cancun...and hook up with other gc'ers. thats just CRAZY!

I feel like a peacemaker between the bloods and the crips. Can we seriously put aside all other arguments and realize there is just one super annoying prick on this forum who we all want to punch in the larynx?

And why was my post in "Random" deleted? What was not true about what I'd written? This kid is worse than hunts point trash. I can't even stand reading the crap he writes anymore and putting him on ignore didn't help since people quote his posts. If you seriously find that crap he writes funny, you've got the IQ of a toaster. So why don't you mods contact John and have him take an extra 10 seconds out of his day to ban him and to take another 10 seconds out of every day for each new username that comes up.

You can harass on a message board. Look, I used to think you were funny, then I felt like you crossed the line. Even if I ignored you, I had 15 pms from people telling me all the crap you were saying about me hooking up with people (totally untrue) and then going to other threads and telling people I take medication. I asked you to stop. You didn't. I pmmed mods and John, and aside from deleting what you wrote, nothing was done.

I click in another thread and there's more of the same crap.

Look dude, it takes a lot to piss me off. I am one of the most sarcastic people here. Calling me a whore, however, is not something I'm going to tolerate, especially when I know you're just making up things that people will believe. I am not going to say that my reaction was appropriate, but you were WAY out of line with the things you said.

I completely agree with this. I think this sums up about 85% of everyone here, which is why I really only talk to a handful of people. You just can't take it seriously. You and I could possibly get along if you'd just drop this me and James crap :rolleyes:

I have never reported anyone besides you. I don't really know how else to say that nothing fazes me, but you crossed the line.
