Have any of you ever watched "Sex in the City"? Those girls are very close friends, but they don't all agree with the way one girl sleeps around.
This situation is just like having a promiscuous friend, or one who drinks too much, or one who talks behind other peoples backs. She's still your girl, you just dissagree on a particular issue that's all. Sin is sin and we all do it. When it's all said and done we all answer to one judge. |
Soror, I will definitely e-mail you because you're last post was more confusing to me than the previous ones. I'm left with the feeling that you're contradicting yourself about a lot of things. In essence, you're doing the exact things you're accusing others of. The self-righteous, who-do-you-think-you-are, holier than thou, How-could-you-say-such-things labels you are placing on others...can, and DO easily apply to you as well. We have to understand that a lot of times in life people WILL have opinions that differ from ours. We have to learn to accept that and move on. We can not force our beliefs on others.

Soror Discogoddess,
I did not say stay away from gays. My friend is gay and I love her. We spend a lot of time together. I simply prefer not to become bossom buddies with her partner. After saying that I must echo you by saying that I too am finished with this topic. ------------------ You are the master of your own destiny! |

This will be my last post on this particular topic as I have already agreed to disagree with you on religious subject matter.
When I was a spring chicken like yourself I was also very judgemental. But over time I have gained some spiritual maturity and have learned, and am still learning, not to be that way. It does take time and hopefully it will happen for you. As usual, I am at work and don't have a Bible with me so I will have to paraphrase. I am sure you know the story of the woman that was caught in the act of adultery and brought to Jesus to be punished. What did Jesus say to the people that busted her? And more importantly, what did Jesus say to her? Did he take that opportunity to remind her of all of her wrongdoings? Did he start preaching or ministering to her right then and there? Did he tell her that she would be punished for her actions on Judgement Day? If memory serves me correctly I believe he told her go and sin no more. Point blank. End of story. No big lecture. No song and dance. That's the bottom line. If you believe that beating people over the head with the dos and don'ts of Christianity is Christ-like, then by all means, knock yourself out. In the above example, Jesus didn't do that, so neither will I. If you think that is "sugarcoating the Word", all I can say to that is you are entitled to your own opinion. Stay blessed. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/cool.gif |
The one big difference in you preaching the "gospel" Diva_56 and Jesus preaching it is.........YOUR NOT JESUS!!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

This topic has sparked some interesting debate. I suggest that we must be realistic. We are only human and regardless of what we say, we do have opinions and feelings regarding lesbians, gays, unwed mothers, drugusers, etc. Many of us will tip tow around the issue(s) and say everything is cool. Others will state their displeasure. I believe if you don't care for a behavior one should say so but still be respectful to the individual. Personally, I disagree with several of the choices my friends and family members make. However, I've come to learn that their issues are not mine and therefore I try to spend very little time examining someone else's habits and lifestyles. I can only tell another what I prefer.

Whoa http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif did I ever say I was Jesus? Are you Jesus? If me posting on this board my opinion (with some scripture added to prove a point) is offensive so be it. Jesus Loves You anyway!!! "gospel"?????? But of course none of my buisness... as for me being a spring chicken, Jeremiah had the same concerns and Jesus told him this:
Jeremiah 1:7-9 "But the LORD said to me, 'Do not say, `I am only a child.' You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,' declares the LORD. Then the LORD reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, 'Now, I have put my words in your mouth.'" Your neither too old or too YOUNG to preach the "gospel" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I don't pick and choose family because it is not in my power to do (and I do love them dearly) so. But I am entitled to whom I spend time with and choose to associate with, see... me nor you will ever give back to a human the love that Jesus is giving to us. Thats what makes me and you NOT JESUS.
