Okay, who besides myself and Everclear have either read the book or are reading it now?

I bought it yesterday and will start reading today. I'll let y'all know what I think.

I finished reading the book last night and I really did enjoy it. It really made me think and examine some of my beliefs. I love any book/movie that can offer that. The end left me a bit :mad:, but I don't know what else I was expecting. I guess I just wanted some finality. I won't say any more for those of you that haven't read it yet. For those of you that have read it, let's discuss.

I can definitely agree that it will challenge your view on the way the past was recorded. During my time reading it, anything that was brought up as a point of reference i went and checked out. Oddly enough alot of it seemed to agree with the book. One thing i can say...it doesn't challenge the message of God, which i think is an important factor.

You are so right. I can understand why a lot of Christians might be offended by the book, but like you said, it NEVER questions the existence of God. In fact, it confirms it. I won't get into the whole Jesus/Mary Magdalene debate on here, but it was intersting, to say the least. And, like you, I want to analyze everything that was mentioned in the book. I visited the Louvre about two years ago, and man do I wish this book would have been written back then. I guess the internet will have to do until I can make it back. I also now want to visit some of the other churches that were described. They do really exist, right?

What did you think of the ending? Were you expecting more? I guess if they had told us more, they would have had to kill us, lol.

I was expecting a little more but i guess if it was any more then i would have made the story unbelieveable. There is a note in the book that say that the names and places are all facts. So the churches that were mention exsist. I had never heard this spin on the story of Jesus before but it does make a sistah go HMMMMM?
Never the less... it does respect the 'message' of God. Which is more important than anything. We all may have different names for Him but the concept is all the same.

Bamboozled, I finished the book the night before you did! I was in Ohio and wanted to hurry up and just get it finished since I had the time. It's odd, because I read this book RIGHT when I had begun questioning a lot of my beliefs. It was very interesting, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will be doing some research as well. I already looked up pictures of The Last Supper online, and the book was right about that, too. So interesting. I think they should make it a movie.

I wasn't upset with the ending, but that's because it exceeded my expectations: I didn't expect anyone to actually FIND the resting place, y'know? So I thought that was cool.

I just checked out The Last Supper online and that isht is AMAZING. I would have never noticed it. Clearly a woman. And Peter is clearly not feeling her, lol.

I was thinking they should make it into a movie too. Who would you want to see play the characters? Here are some of my choices (bear with me on the spelling of these names, I don't have the book with me):

Langdon: (I don't know, but I picture him with dark hair and kind of tall)
Teabing: Robert Dinero, LOL
Fache: (I can't think of the guy's name, but he plays a cop in almost every movie he's in... mole on his face, dark brown hair, kind of short)
Sauniere: (I don't know who could do "THE" scene, lol.)
Sophie: Gwenyth Paltrow
Silas: Marylin Manson

I decided to pick the book up. I began reading it today, and I am hooked! It's really fast-paced.

I read the book and I enjoyed it. I remember in in middle school or high school our teacher told us about the possible hidden messages and mockery in the paintings. Last night on Entertainment Tonight, I heard them say the book is going to become a movie. The hard part would be to find the right actors.

You are right chrini. The Davinci Code will be made into a movie and Ron Howard (Opie from the Andy Griffith Show) direct the movie and his production company will produce it. He's not a bad director. I just hope the casting is good, because that will make or break the movie.
