When I was in school, uninvited guests in our house usually got the boot real quick, sometimes literally.

I notice that 80% of hoosiers topics are negitive towards the greek system, so this one does not surprise me at all. Whose business is it that the fraternity house is not clean? Theirs, not yours. If you travel the country entering fraternity/sorority houses uninvited, soon enough someone will not take kindly towards that and you'll probably end up a little bruised - especially if you are not an alumn. of that house.

PS, where do you come up with the time to travel the country inspecting greek housing?

Just a note for alums--

you may or may not be aware how much college security has changed since the time you went through college. I can tell you that it is viewed as TOTALLY inappropriate to trespass without permission on any of our campus housing, Greek or non-Greek. There are many security issues for college students, and you should NOT be letting yourself into houses--for the safety of students and your own safety against having the police called, etc. If you did this on my campus, you would be forever branded as creepy, and security would confront you. No question. It doesn't matter that we rent our houses--you don't walk into someone's rental apartment, either. Of course, if it is a house that you have a working relationship with as a alum, that is a different situation. But I must say that with all the crime (so especially with sorority women) college students must be prepared to prevent nowadays, these sorts of self-tours of houses are completely uncalled for. They are intrusions, period.

LMAO!!!! ;)

I'm thinking most houses look like dumps right now - it's the summer and people are moving in/out, stuff is being made for recruitment, etc...does your personal home look clean every day?

Actually, that may be the best point made in this thread. I have seen houses that aren't open during the summer, and they're pretty grim until "Fall Cleanup."

As for the security aspect, as late as last school year, I have yet to find the front door locked at any reasonable sized Delt Chapter. We (meaning advisors) had to practically threaten our chapters to even get them to put cypher locks on the doors and lock them when nobody was home.

Pretty much everyone locked their individual rooms inside.

I suspect there's a big difference between fraternity and sorority houses in this regard.

Tom Earp 08-18-2003 05:39 PM

GeekyP, I do not let people in my front door! Is to Messy!:(

I have walked into some house esp. if LXA and hollar for anyone and if finally find someone, I introduce my self as A Brother! They go bug nuts when see my card! Has a 1 on it!:D Have not been into to many tho, only 8. That is my bad.

But I am not sure with todays security if would be wise to go into a strange Fraternity House:rolleyes:

I am the same way, when I go into my House soon to be torn down and see trash all over everywhere! I do get nutsoid!

I have never been in a Soroity House beleive it or not so cannot speak from that point. Fraternitys 1 st floors look good, but when you get to the Rooms, wow just like home!:D Well for the most part!:)

UMM, this is a perfect example of visiting a house on a good day.

My apologizes if any SLO Sigma Nu's are reading this, but just a few short years ago one of my best buddies was in the house and it was NOT kept in the best condition.

Maybe the leadership had their act together that day ?

i just wish that next time hoosier comes down to sdsu he comes to the SAE chapter and walks around with his clipboard or whatever he has checking off everything thats wrong with our house....i can just see the look on my bros face if some dude showed up and told us our house was dirty

hoosier 08-23-2003 01:04 PM

Are you close to the (censored) DSP bunch?

I've already promised to check out the new LXA chapter first, but SAE could be second.

Are you close to the (censored) DSP bunch?

josh8o 08-23-2003 01:23 PM

hoosier....why are you such a fag sometimes?

Optimist Prime 08-23-2003 03:53 PM

Hoosier, you need back off. Everyone is sick of your posts. I doubt you've ever even been to sdsu. Josh and Stan are two of the coolest people on this board, and just by talking to them, I can say that the whole system there is doing great if they had just a handfull of guys like them. These guys work to keep house clean, just because it was messy one day doesn't mean they don't clean. If it was never dirty, then they'd never clean, something has to be dirty in order for you to clean it, otherwise you are obcessive complisive and should get therapy. So should you Hoosier. You're a stupid bitch.

33girl 08-24-2003 03:59 PM

With the difference being of course, that if Tom ever posts anything that is somehow negative about the Greek system, he is upset about it and looking for good things to somehow come out of it. You, on the other hand, seem to be getting a real boner from posting as much bad stuff as possible, reveling in it, and putting Greeks down.

hoosier 08-24-2003 06:21 PM

I hope so.

A -it's not bad stuff, it's news. Surely you don't think bad stuff (hazing, suspended chapters) will go away if ignored? If you care not to read about hazing problems and risk management, stay out of this part of the forum.

B - who is revelling? I hope for improvement. If some undergrad here reads that XYZ chapter had some blackfaced bros at a Halloween party, and got in serious trouble with the PC police and the Natl. Office, maybe the reader will keep his bros from doing it. I hope so.

Maybe if someone here sees the picture from the DU-Nebraska paddling deal, he will stop paddling or stop picture-taking in his chapter. I hope so.

C - Name one Greek I have "put down." Unless you think the hazers, paddlers, pledge killers, and those who generate the negative publicity should not be "put down".

D - and yes, I have a real boner. As one of my brothers posted, "our fraternity has been producing leaders and pleasing women since 1899."

I can't resist asking: Does 33girl have anything to do with your bra size?

I luv Tom too.

my house isnt close to dsp, but ill be glad to give you directions to our house
