Sharon,

As you already know...I am extending my heartfelt condolences. Although I have been in the presence of your mother on many occasions...I never had the privaledge to REALLY sit and share a moment of her thoughts. HOWEVER, just from observance, just looking into her eyes, I could tell that she was a wealth of knowledge and strength in her own special way.

There is probably nothing that I can say to remove what you may be feeling right now. AND I have never been the one to have profound words of comfort in situations such as these. Because quite frankly...in my 33 years of life ...Transitions are still something I have not mastered the acceptance of and I may never.

Please know that I love you and am here for you (even as far as Chicago) whenever you need me. Me stepping in to help with the workshop this weekend has nothing to do with me or even my new sister (wink) but instead it is me dropping to the front to fly in your place. (double wink)

Love you

Kim

sorors, i'm so sorry to hear of your loss. i know all to well the pains of losing a loved one. last week, my uncle and my aunt died from complications of alzheimers and emphysema respectively. it is very hard to deal with but i wanted to share a poem i read and saved from a bruh a looooong time ago...

If the truth
Is the light
Then why don't we all shine?

If loving thy neighbor
is Christ-like
Then why aren't we all kind?

If to live
Is to love
Then why is hate still alive?

If you belive
and have true FAITH
Why is it such a suprise?

Finally, If you leave it in God's
And believe on him and in him
Why don't you think it will get done.

And when we all
Get to Heaven
We Gone ALL Have some FUN!!!!!

Dearest Ladygreek,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Stay strong. I can't imagine the pain you feel. Follow your intuition and it will guide you through the steps you'll need to take during this time of mourning.

Losing a parent shakes the very foundation upon which we are built. I lost my mother to cancer March 10th...there isn't much advice I can give besides time heals wounds...there will forever be holes in our hearts, but time does lessen the pain. I didn't believe that until really this month though. I was holding my mom's hand when she won her battle with cancer...she won eternal life with the Lord.

I hope this poem helps a little. It helped me a lot:

God's Garden

God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth,
and saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew that you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
and hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine".
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.

--------------------------------------

In my Father's house are many rooms;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I am going there to prepare a place for you
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with
me that you also may be where I am.
John 14:2&3

My prayers, of course, are with all the people that your mother touched in her lifetime.
