I thought only a few little kids would get outtie's but it would grown in as they got older. I dont think I know any Adults with outties, if I did that would be uhhhhgg!

I don't like it. The baby's head always gets in the way.

PiKA -- that was just a joke, along with the response.

OP, that's not even worth a response.

So, here is no response...

DeltAlum, I'm relieved :) I couldn't believe that you would think something like that :) One of those strange things that happens when you respect someone!

Thanks.

Not to worry. It's remarkable what you can learn over the course of watching all three of your children be breastfed -- and listening to one side of hundreds of counseling calls to a LaLeche League Leader and Lactation Consultant wife. (She was consultant for the doctors who founded the Family Birthing Center at Providence Hospital in Southfield, MI (Detroit area) Daughter number two was born there.

By the way, while Mrs. DeltAlum was LLL Regional Administrator, she wrote the outline for LaLeche League's first working mother's meeting.

She still has a couple of quotes on their webpage, even though she has been "retired" as a Leader for several years.

ok first of all...where do you live that cussing in public is against societies norms?

secondly, how is breastfeeding annoying or bothersome?

i have been with friends and family members who were breastfeeding...even worked in a restaurant where some customers were breastfeeding...and there was NEVER a peep show! no one let their boob hang out on the table for 30 mins or started walking around without a shirt on. i don't have children, but if i ever do, i will breastfeed for as long as i can. if i happen to be in public with a hungry child, then so be it. just remember, i am not trying to put on a strip show!

DeltAlum,
Your wife sounds like an amazing woman and you a very supportive father and husband! I am going to my first LLL meeting next month!

I hate to contradict a sister, but in a town in Michigan, it is actually against the law to swear in public. If I can find a link about the story, I'll post it.

It's actually several towns in Michigan that have a law against public profanity.

Ginger 07-17-2003 10:21 AM

Even where it's not against the law, cussing in public in a lot of places will get you dirty looks, or worse, thrown out. In my home town kids were regularly kicked out of malls, stores, etc if they were to swear out loud.
