Just wanted to chime in with my own GOOD LUCK!!!! You guys have all done so much prep work going into recruitment, you'll be just fine! I can't imagine who wouldn't want such smart, classy, well-informed PNM's as everyone seems to be! Have fun, girls!!!

EEeeeeeek! Two weeks today I start my rush! I'm sooo excited/nervous! I'm taking my pref dress in today to get altered (the arm holes are waaaay too big) and most of my other clothes to get cleaned/pressed. I really feel like it's getting down to the wire, and I need to make sure every single detail is in place. I know this has been asked before, but what are some good questions I could ask, aside from the usual ones? Thanks for all your help guys, it's almost here!

People always like to hear "What made YOU choose to pledge ABC?" It gives them a chance to talk about their personal experience and the best things about their sisterhood. It may also help you when you think back on the answers you received in different houses. Where is the focus for the sisters? Does that coincide with what YOU want?

Another good one is "What have you personally gotten out of being an XYZ?" The answers might be very similar, since Greek life is pretty good all around, I must say :D . Ask for some specific examples. If the girl says something like, "I've learned time management skills," ask her how balancing activities was before, and what specifically the sorority does to help, what skills are taught. If she says "My grades have gotten better," ask why. Did she get help from sisters with the same classes? Was it a specific scholarship program which the chapter has implemented?

Remember, you know yourself best, and you'll know what things work for you. It'll help you get an idea of the sorority's programs outside of the sisterhood and bonding. Those things are very important and precious, yes, but since every sorority will say it, it's good to look at other aspects. They may be more practical, but they are tangible, beneficial parts of Greek life, and it's good to know how each sorority goes about encouraging them.

One week to go! Today I got my hair cut and my nails done! I'm not too crazy about my hair, but luckily I have a whole week to figure out what to do with it! I called the pan. rush chair today to have her update my grades since my summer ones are in now. 2.91, and the highest minimum on campus is 2.75! For once I actually am above the min. on something! I'm getting really excited! The panhellenic has sent me info 4 times about rush! I'm like, you didn't even have to send it once! :-p I just know next tuesday I'll be able to tell you all which home I have found! I think I'm the second bid day, after BlazerCheer.

Smart thinking to get your hair cut a week in advance - I always wait till the day of whatever big function then I end up hating how it looks! Way to go with the grades! I'm so excited for you!

Sending you best wishes and I can't wait to hear how everything goes!!!!! You sound really prepared and I'm sure it will all turn out perfectly!

Weee! Rush thread fever is starting! Good luck to you! :D

Good news everyone! My rush thread will be starting a day early! On Thursday, August 14, there is an "optional" meeting with the rho chis. I think it's going to be like an orientation type thing! Eeeeeek! I got my clothes back from the cleaners, and my pref dress back from the alteration place today. Everything looks great! Also, I went to a different salon and got my hair fixed. It's still not exactly what I was going for from the start, but very much improved. I won't be stressing over it now. It's quite a bit shorter than I wanted (just below the shoulder, but that's short for me!), but still plenty long enough to tie my scarf in it. Just one week to go!
