In a pre-taped interview segment she displayed her collection.

I, who had not been reading up on GC about the BEAUTIFUL Ms. Florida, was like hmmmm....Delta maybe??

LOL.

She did SO WELL. THat yellow dress was SUPERB.

Skee-Oop ladies. Your Soror represented for every single one of us last night.

Hello lovely and distinguished ladies of the most elite sorority in the universe!!!!

I watched the entire pageant! I was cheering for Ericka the whole time!!!! Not only because we share the same first name(although spelled differently) and not only because she is a DELTA woman(the epitome of womanhood), but because like all of our SORORS, she was da' bomb!!!!!!

I am soooooooooo proud!!!!:)

Much Delta love,

Only two of the top five--Erika and Miss Maryland. At least that I could identify as such. I think there was a third in the top ten.

Hey, everybody! I just found out who won the Miss America pageant (a little behind, but I don't really watch TV that much). When I found out she is a DST, I just wanted to drop in here and congratulate all of you. She is a great representative of your organization! :D So, anyway, congratulations from one Delta organization to another.

Miss America

I did watch the program, and was very impressed with Miss Florida from the very beginning, although I thought Miss. Virginia was" HOT ". As far as the ethnicity of the finalist I believe there were four runner ups who were Black, including Miss Hawaii.Even Miss Wisconsin looked like she may have been part Oriental. This is the second time that a Black Miss America crowned another Black Miss America (Debbie Turner crowned Marjorie Vincent ). I knew MIss Florida was a Delta the minute I saw the interview and she showed her elephants.
I am glad for the Women of Delta Sigma Theta for having someone proudly represent them as well as the rest of us.I hope she wears her Delta symbols when she goes on TV interviews.

Miss Virginia was also African American. She was in the top 10, but not top 5 as you stated.

She was on Regis and Kelly this morning. She had on a red skirt suit and her Miss America pendant.

Miss Hawaii being Black was news to me too

Miss Wisconsin did say that she was part Korean. I think her mother is Korean while her dad was White. BTW..thanks for the Asian correction. As I head someone say once, furniture is oriental, people are not.

Did anyone catch her on "Pyramid" game show the day before? She was ging for $25,000 but didn't get the last one. She was very poised o the show and she was saying what her platform and her talent was going to be. I liked the yellow dress and was mad when Alex Cuomo the commentator said something along the lines of she shouldn't have won that round. Do we really need sideline critics for everything?

I've been gone all weekend and did not know. Congrats to the ladies of Delta Sigma Thete Sorority, Inc. and to Ms. Dunlap.

sigmadiva 09-22-2003 12:44 PM

Congrats to Miss Dunlap and DST. I could feel her excitement as she realized she was about to be crowned the new Miss America. :D
