Agreed... Metros are not for me. I realized the kind of guy I needed the day I climbed under my truck and changed my oil and filter when the two guys I was with - in their attempts to be 'manly' - didn't know how to do it.

Sorry, but I'll take a little dirt under the fingernails over a guy with a manicure any day.

P.S. It's important he DOES know when to clean up though - I mean... there's a time when you need to throw the greasy Carhartt's in the wash and at least put on a clean pair of jeans, ya know? I've noticed some of the farm boys around here haven't quite found that fine line yet.

Ok, so I finally learned the definition of metrosexual today, from the sleep doctor I went to this morning nonetheless (no I hadn't read this thread until now).

And it SO fits my new boyfriend. Except he's not self-centered (lacks self esteem if anything), shallow, does have fewer clothes than me but he does enjoy looking nice and he is very much straight.

He doesn't seem to spend much more time in the bathroom than any other guy but he does get manicures.

BUT, he doesn't have any problem "getting dirty" as well. Rides a motorcycle and plays soccer weekly. Just very in tune with the way females think.

But, women enjoy looking nice why shouldn't a guy? Besides, he looks REAL nice when he goes all out........;)

A friend of mine was talking about a metro guy she interviewed. Then we got on a discussion about marketing niches and how metrosexuals carving out their own niche in the consumer market. We theoretically designed a whole line of household tools that are all black w/ subtle chrome accents to appeal to this demographic.
Metrosexuals are nice to look at, but I doubt I could ever seriously date one. I would appreciate a man that requires less maintenance than I do!

I like metrosexual men - to a point. I like him to be nice to look at - but can't be extreme enough that I am questioning his sexuality...

And, yeah, they are a wee bit high maintenance, but so are most girls - myself included.

Mine is no more hight maintenance that I am, and THAT'S pretty low. But there are times when he's only in the bathroom long enough to shower....

My good friend that met through my sister is the TOTAL METROSEXUAL!!! HAHAHHA

Like he trips out when it comes to shopping/ fashion etc. He even carries around those Boire Face clothes to wipe his face after a hot day on campus to make sure his skin doesnt break out! HAHAHAH
WACKness

Speaking of metros.. I met a guy when I was out a few weeks ago. He was VERY good looking almost toooo polished, but it didn't bother me at first. He was well dressed, etc. One of the first things he does is compliment my Coach bag and Seven jeans. I'm thinking cool, this guy actually notices things like that.. So, the next night he invites me to his apartment, which is very well decorated and I am way impressed.. Then he starts telling me about a Louis Vuitton travel bag he just ordered and custom Nike tennis shoes that are white and PINK. ok, so now I am beginning to think this guy is more feminine than I am.. when he started talking about eyebrows and the differences in plucking and waxing, I am so turned off.. he even admitted that most of his friends call him metro. I know he is definitely straight, but just way too feminine for me. I have decided that I like a guy who takes care of himself and dresses well, but I need a man who's also not afraid to get dirty :)
THAT is just way too over the top.........
