Good luck with rush! |
There are several things that I can think of that could have happened:
(1) The people doing handmatching messed up and somehow she wasn't matched (like her card wasn't in the stack when BM'ing was done); (2) She didn't sign a bid card for some reason or another; (3) Your CPH doesn't have a rule requiring everyone who attends pref to be on your bidlist and your chapter messed up and didn't put her on your list or on your first list (and she suicided). I'll keep thinking on this one. It is odd to see stuff like that happen. Generally, if a legacy doesn't match it is b/c she chose another house or didn't sign. |
IM A DOUBLE LEGACY KAPPA ( BOTH GRANDMOTHERS ) WITH 4 AUNTS ALSO BEING KAPPAS....I WENT DELTA GAMMA !!! I LOVE THE KKG'S HERE JUST WASNT THE BEST FIT !!
|
I'm a Theta, Phi Mu, DG, and Alpha Chi legacy...but only Theta has a chapter at my school.

My dad and my uncle were both ATO's, and god willing by the end of next semester, i will be one too.

Huh. I found out a couple months ago I had a great-great-grandmother who was Chi O. I always thought I was a legacy; now I know I'm not. GC = the coolest!
Seriously though.... no one in my family, aside from my dad (AKL) is greek. If my mom had been, I can almost certainly say I would have pledged her group. We're traditionalists like that. So I guess I'm lucky she wasn't, so I didn't, so I'm Phi Mu. Aside... if my little girl turns down Phi Mu to go elsewhere on her campus... I think I'll be secretly crushed. Of course, I'll buy her her first letters and send her cute stuff in the mail and tell her how thrilled I am she found where she fit best, but my husband will know how much I wanted my daughter to be my sister... my dog wears pink bandannas. Is that so wrong? |

My mother, aunt, and maternal grandmother are all Thetas (Kappa Alpha Theta).
My paternal grandmother, paternal aunt, and cousin are all Pi Phis (Pi Beta Phi). You could say I was born into a very Greek-oriented, legacied family. I went ADPi :) even though my mom was a member of my school's Theta chapter hehe. |
I am not a legacy. I am the first and only person in my family who became Greek and it was definately a little hard for my parents to get used to it. But now they know how much I adore Phi Mu, so they love it too since it makes me so happy. Looking back I am somewhat glad I wasn't a legacy when i went through rush b/c I had the HARDEST time with it, I was so mixed up and my mind seemed to change every 2.2 seconds about who I liked and who I didn't. So I guess just me personally it was a little bit easier to not have to worry about hurting my mom's feelings or something if I cut her chapter or they cut me. However I can't wait to have little girls of my own and have them be little Phi Mu legacies. :D
