I've been temping since moving to our new home because there just isn't anything here for me to do full time. The place I am temping at right now is very casual, but I still try to look somewhat nice. I wasn't feeling all that good yesterday so I just threw on an ADPi sweatshirt and called it good. Well, I'm glad I did, because it turns out the accountant at this company is an ADPi! Even better is that she is from Upsilon! Very cool!

talk about random places to meet a sister
I met a sister at a Jewish Leadership Convention in Ohio a few years back. It was random because I was a rho chi that upsoming semester and couldn't wear my letters around town, but I brought them with me. It was really neat for I felt like the only Jew in the Sosority even though I know it isn't true.

I guess you could call this "meeting" a sister.
I posted a bunch of fictions that my friend and I co-wrote while visiting her in NC on fanfiction.net. My penname is adpi24. Anyways I got a review today from a sister. Now, I might have had other sisters review my work, but no one actually said anything, she did. She said (and I quote, because I'm really excited) "(P.S. I was excited to read a fic written by a fellow ADPi -- I am a Psi Chapter alum.)" |
Last March, the chapter I advise hosted a campus event, "Women in Business", presented by area alumnae. One of the women recommended a book, "Businesss Etiquette in Brief" by Ann Marie Sabath. I found in on Amazon but left it in my cart.
Two weeks ago, I noticed the book still in my cart - so I bought it for a nickel! I got the book yesterday. There were some papers under the cover - and I was shocked to see a 1997 ADPi Foundation Scholarship program! And, inside the front cover there was a sticker indicating the book was a gift from the ADPi Foundation. Amazing! |
bumping....
I interviewed a woman for one of my classes (about working with individuals with disabilities - she's a speech/language pathologist). Anyways, I sent her a thank you note, and she emailed me yesterday thanking me for the note (I also included a small gift card for her troubles)...she added a P.S. to the end stating that she was also an ADPi from the Delta chapter. Using the address labels from ADPi are a great outreach tool! :D |
so i posted this in adpi random, but i ran into some delta gamma sisters while at disneyland on sunday. i was wearing my letters and we were leaving the park. i turned to my left and i saw someone wearing her letters and waving at me. as i got closer i recognized one of the girls as a collegian. i met her when i was down there a couple years back at homecoming and she transferred to ASU (no affliation i believe). i was so excited to see her. i thought the other sister was a gamma rho but Liz was like "no she's a delta gamma". of course i got all excited and gave her a hug. too bad i can't remember her name. :D i would have chatted longer but my "party" was ready to go, so i just got some pictures out of it. oh well. i was on cloud nine though.

I am taking a summer class right now. Today, this lady from my class comes up to me and says that she was an ADPi at FSU! I think she is in her 50s. It was so random and fun to know that.

bumping because I'm sure in the two years since this thread has been touched more has happened. LOL.
For me it has been meeting a bunch of sisters through joining the Junior League. We went on our bus tour and stopped at RMH and the member who was doing the talking (for the tour) asked if anyone knew about RMH. I then raise my hand and say "it's my sororities philanthropy). The girl then says "oh your an ADPi" to which I said yes. Once we got inside some of the other provisional members sat down next to me and told me they were ADPi's so we started talking ADPi. |
I was flying down to South Carolina from DC a few weeks ago and of course I was wearing my letters. When the flight attendant walked by me, she said she was an adpi too! needless to say i was super excited. She is from the Longwood chapter.

I was in class on Sunday (I am in a summer EMS class) and I happened to be wearing my class letter sweatshirt that day. When we broke off into small groups, one of the girls in my group noticed my sweatshirt- turns out she is an ADPi at the university where I am taking the class! It was a fun connection; I was just initiated this semester and other than at the Delaware initiations, I had never met any sisters from other chapters.

I coach at a local high school and a player's mom is an ADPi.
|
This past week, I've met two people whose (biological) sisters were ADPis at my chapter! And, strangely, they were both women I worked with! One of them said her other sister was an AGD which is funny, because we often end up preffing a lot of the same girls.
Also, two of my friends at Arizona State joined ADPi as sophomores after I transferred and joined ADPi at KU! |
