Your saying that we know nothing about the American right to express an opinion? From the comments I have read on this page, I think the vast majority of those posting have a working knowledge of that right. That's one of the reasons we are posting...and whether anyone noticed or not, most of us have agreed whole-heartedly that we are quite glad to have that right-regardless of whether we agree on the opinions being expressed.

I think the thread is pretty interesting, but then, you have a right to opine that its stupid.

Hahaha, some of you people are so funny. One person attacks my comment, I reply in similar fashion, some random guy joins in to insult my educational background(a "nyanya" comment following HIS accusation of ME doing the same thing), and then random person #2 becomes emotionally involved and adds that "all of us"(apparently she took a poll), think I'm a smartarse, and of course adding in that ever popular rolling eyes smiley! Ouch!

Anyways, woe to me and my inferior education, meanwhile I'm not apologetic in the least for my comment.

So...ah yes, the picture - I dunno, it's ok, I like the idea of the slogans/angry messages written on their bodies. I do always think it's kind of strange when naked women hold their breasts though. Whether this will affect their audience, hard to say. As someone pointed out, many of their listeners are on the more conservative side, although I know they also have a pretty big following of younger, more liberal fans.

The website had a graphic that read "Citizen's Against Communism." If they want educated people to listen to their message, they could at least get their grammar right. Any and all credibility on that site, in my mind, vanished when I saw that faux-pas. I love it when people who don't understand another's political view immediately call them "Communists." Like 33 said, McCarthy and Dulles must be so happy right now (wherever they may be).

Oh yeah...and what someone posted about the credentials of the Bush administration. No one doubts that Condoleeza, Colin, and Cheney are brilliant. Bush's credentials--Andover/Yale/Harvard Law are a result (not necessarily a direct result) of his very wealthy upbringing and family connections. Besides, Ivy undergrad programs were not academically competitive AT ALL until 1960 or so. I was talking with a doctor from PP about how Bush may be personally stupid, but he surrounds himself with some of the world's smartest strategists--handpicked by Daddy, who is an intelligent man in his own right. So, I am far from impressed by that list--I grew up around people with curricula vitae twice as long.

I don't need to say too much. Post after post, you write what are pure lies. Most of it is ignorant crap. In this case you discussed a fascist government which did tortured people and destroyed their heritage to people choosing not to listen to music and radio stations reflecting the moods of their listeners. i seriously doubt any of us have ever written a perfect paper, and i certainly hope that someone doesn't immediately think i'm not credible for an entire article's worth of research b/c i got my apostrophes mixed up. typos happen....don't think it makes or breaks one's credibility, though.....if a name was mixed up, then ok, but apostrophes, hyphens, and other punctuation errors aren't gonna automatically cause me to give someone my favorite rolling eyes smilie and a "talk to the hand..."

i, as well, am interested in seeing all these names of ppl who scored higher than W on the SAT.

I am one of those Americans who no longer listen to Dixie Chicks' music after Natalie made her comments in England. The local radio stations are no longer playing their music, but that is at the demand of the LISTENERS!! Why you may ask??

The same city that is home to Norfolk Naval Base ~ home to the largest naval base in the United States. I live in Virginia Beach ~ home to Oceana Naval Air Station, Dam Neck Naval Base, Little Neck Naval Base, and Fort Story Army Base. Portsmouth has the Coast Guardand Portsmouth Naval Hospital. On the other side of the water (Hampton/Newport News) is Langley Air Force Base. I could keep going. I live in the middle of a military rich town. The number of women and men that have been sent overseas for Operation Enduring Freedom is staggering. Everyday a new group leaving, but some groups are starting to come home!

As for Natalie, I cannot believe that no one in the last four pages of posts has not mentioned that she also made some very ________ (fill - in the blank) remarks about Toby Keith's song "Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning?" She was one of the very few, if not the only one saying...how can he represent country music like that???

They know that they need to do something quick before their tour is scheduled to begin. Would it be different if they were men? I don't know. Suggestions have been made to give a free concert or two to some military families. WHY NOT? I think it would be a GREAT IDEA!! She definitely stuck her foot in her mouth. And the other two women are stuck with her comments since they are part of the band. I think the cover is a desperate attempt to try to recover some of the fans that they lost with these TWO insert foot comments!
