At least you've got Richie Sexson hitting "jonrons" to watch.

Amen to that! I'll still go and watch the team (and I'm excited about the new park) but Towers and the other office guys need to do something about the players! (I don't buy into the whole "don't blame Bochy" bs!)

I wish Richie Sexson was still a member of the Indians. His Bat would help out a lot.:(

Who would you spend free agent $$$ on? I like Vladimir Guerrero or Miguel Tejada, but cats like that are probably headed to big-market, free-spending clubs like los Janquis.
:D :p

I don't even know where to begin....I think we're doing "okay" considering this is mainly a AAA team (something I heard from another fan!) and I don't even know who all is out there that's up for grabs...I do know that Towers and the other management won't go after anyone because they all cry "poor" when we have the smallest spending within the entire NL West.

(Padre fan since 1980...okay, maybe 81, when I was a year old!:D )

I hear you and want us to spend $$$. With the new revenue coming from Petco Park, there's no excuse for this to continue past this year. The young pitching, Seany B. and X Nady must continue to develop. I'm also tired of crying poor...I thought Moores had serious money.

polarpi 06-03-2003 05:41 PM

I'm sure they do...they probably would claim that it's all tied up in the contracts of some of our older players and for Bochy....well, :p to that!

It must be tough for Indians fans to have to deal with a rebuild after all the good years of the 1990s. You do have pitching, however, including the very large C.C. Sabathia.:)

DeltaSigStan 06-03-2003 06:42 PM

LMAO it's funny you bring up Xavier Nady Steeltrap

I went to the Friday night game vs. the DBack. Had a no hitter going into the fifth and then they gave up 5 runs on their way to a "stunning" 8-3 loss.

Whenever Xavier Nady comes up, they play "X Gon Giv It To Ya" by DMX. Course, he went 0-4, so, yeah, he gave it to us alright.

CTFU. It figures that they would play DMX or Xcibit (sp?) when Nady plays. But he's a rookie, so I have patience, to a degree.
:p

You're right, Steeltrap. C.C. has really grown into his role as the Ace of the Staff. Our Home Town Pitcher, Brian Anderson, is Scaring me, but He's working hard to help the team. The Tribe is rolling right now and it would be interesting to see where they stack up now, starting with tonight's game against the Colorado Rockies, But I'm Hype up about the Dodgers coming to Cleveland for their "Hollywood" Premiere at Jacobs Field. :) Should be a lot of fun.

They've gotta watch the innings with Sabathia - he's a hardthrower and throwing some serious numbers of innings for such a young pitcher. It'll be interesting to see how he throws the rest of the year and into next year.
