WTF does this have to do with Puma?

I can't breathe!!! I can just hear y'all saying "HELL NAW!"

I am speechless(not like the girl in the pic though, my mouth is open from shock!)

Geeze Louise...

It's suggestive advertising. Period. You can't actually SEE what they're doing so the mind wants to complete the picture. We as humans do it all the time. It's a great marketing tool. Aside from that, that photo was designed to get a rise out of people(bad pun, I know:)), to be controversial. Obviously it has done that.

Munchkin03 03-11-2003 07:08 PM

That's horrible, and I consider myself a pretty left-leaning person. It goes beyond the limits of good taste, right into exploitation...

Peaches-n-Cream 03-11-2003 07:37 PM

Next thing you know the Gap will use Monica's DNA stained blue dress in its ads. ;)

Dont' be suprised if someone does something like that. You know, it's comments like this (seriously) that give people ideas to take these type of pics.

You know, if it wasn't for the fact that someone actually put the pics here, I seriously doubt that most of us (here on GC) would have even seen them. I may have seen them simply because of my career field and the pubications I have privy to. I see stuff like this all the time. Now if these particular pictures are in magazines that are in US circulation, which mags would they be in? Modern Bride? Yeah right. I would say the gucci ad maybe one of the top fashion mags like Harpers (i said maybe) or Vouge, more so Vouge International versions. The Puma ad, in a men's mag or a men's hip hop music mag. Some of these pictures may have been out in cirulation LONG before we see them. 2,3,4 years or more.

ok they could of done that yeah, but that bill clinton stain on her damn thigh is just too much!

Munchkin03 03-12-2003 12:42 PM

Ack, I spoke too strongly. I didn't mean exploitation so much as I did just a general bad image of a woman in this ad, and it shows to me the firm's low opinion of women. I suspect that it's not even a real woman at all--who'd pose for this?

How could this encourage any one to buy Pumas?!

hey - hang on - those Puma ads aint real

hello greekchat frequenters.

You may think what you like of Tom Fords ads

( the shaved gucci http://ad-rag.com/7441.php
the nude man http://ad-rag.com/6124.php
and the extremly pale sophie Dahl http://ad-rag.com/179.php )

but don't get all upset about them "puma ads" they aren't real and they never ran anywhere.
after posting them here http://ad-rag.com/102946.php together with a very real bulgarian "flirt vodka" ad - Puma contacted us with this:

http://ad-rag.com/103608.php

just thought i'd let you know - and warn you a little. Puma has been busy sending cease and desist orders to those sites who host images of the ads depicted.

cheerio :D
