It's great to be TEXAN !
I just filled up for 1.49 a gallon, and that was not the cheapest in the area. Near my house the gas is 1.44 ans still dropping. That dosen't even include the wal-mart discount or buying it at the local grocery store station with the discount card! Living in TX has it's advantages

The answer to that is more than it should be!!! I was (and am)anti-war, but now that we have gone over there and fought our so called "war on terror", can a sista get a break on the gas can't we get a little hook up on Iraq's gas?
Its $1.57 here in Houston I might as well be home in Cali! |

This morning I paid $2.13/gallon. Ahh the joy...NOT! P.S. the $2.13 was at Arco for the regular unleaded. |
Prices in Toronto I saw were 82.9 cents a litre and on the news I saw that they were as high as 87.9 cents a litre.
There's about 4 litres to a gallon so that about $3.32 a gallon. |
Here in Socal it seems to average 2.13-2.9 a gallon right now!!

I have a terrible habit of driving until my gasoline light comes on...so yesterday I paid 2.25 a gallon for regular gas.
Oh, yeah...I live in Los Angeles |
It's too freaking much!! The news reported that the spike was due to several factors: 1. the blackout last week, 2. a broken pipeline in Arizona and 3. price gouging by the greedy gas companies trying to sqeeze some extra profits from pre-Labor day trips.
I live in DC metro and the average price is about 1.70 a gallon. Generally, DC is most expensive, MD is in the middle (shop around, Waldorf has some good prices, especially at Wawa) and VA is lowest, and gets cheaper the further from the Beltway you get. Did I say gas prices are still too FREAKING high? |
How can a blackout affect gas prices. I don't see the connection there.
|
When I filled up yesterday in San Diego, I paid $2.04 a gallon. Sheesh, I sure wish that I could go back on base. My mom, who still has navy base privileges as a widow (I lost mine when I was 23), pays less than that.

$1.75 as of yesterday  Blackout my butt! Gas is high because companies saw an opportunity to make up on some lost profit and blame it on the blackout and Labor Day.
