Being in a tornado (though i could watch them on TV all day)
I believe this is why my son is fascinated with meteorology. When he has a fear, he bombards himself with it via TV. It started with the movie Dark Crystal, which he loved to watch over and over and over, but wouldn't watch it alone. Then it was tornados. I think that by learning as much as he can and exposing himself to it as much as he can, he thinks he will conquer the fear. The tornados thing led to hurricanes. |

Not so much fear, but concern that I would ever let down a friend; or not go the extra mile for someone who was counting on me; or thoughtlessly hurting someone; or passing a beggar and not sharing a couple of bucks. Fear of not having the guts to stand up and be counted when one needs to, no matter what.
I am no overage boyscout, but at the end of my days I want to be able to look myself in the mirror and say honestly that I gave it my best shot. |
Ochlophobia/demophobia- fear of crowds. This is my most debilitating and crippling one- the one that prevents me from activities the most. I'm not agoraphobic at all- I'm more claustrophobic. If I can have my own individual seat and an easy escape route nearby, it's fine. But if it is in a crowd with a lot of people way closer to me than my personal space bubble allows it, then I will get an anxiety attack.
Pyrophobia- must be for historic reasons, since absolutely no injuries or property loss have ever happened to me or anyoen I know due to fire. Getting deformed- I'm vain by nature and have not had the best of luck as is, imagine if I were to be deformed. Having a child with special needs- which is pretty much moot since I have PCOS and do not intend to get pregnant ever. Fear of running into the stalker from the past, or getting stalked/harassed again. |
