They are back!!

I got my daily favorite search for ZETA TAU ALPHA (Yes I am addicted! Is there a group out there? :p ) And guess what was included in the list???

Yep, you guessed it!! The items that we thought were pulled, with the same description. (With the keyword spamming!
 ) I am not trying to start more discussion about how these items were lost, but how Ebay can pull them and allow them put back on!!! ARGH!!!

Off my soapbox!!

I think we should respect BetaRulez!

If he said it's not secret stuff, then we should believe him.

I know that at my friend's chapter, someone's mom helped to make some of the stuff ages and ages ago. And the ritual book has guidelines for making the stuff in ritual. Someone's dad or boyfriend helped the girls make it because they had to cut the wood with a saw.Not sure what they made (I am assuming a table or something-it wasa a lot of wood!)At least that's what they were told. Not sure if that's true. But it just shows that everyone is different and if your's is top secret, don't harsh on someone's who's isn't.

Well, it's not eBay's fault. With the insane amount of stuff on that site, they only notice items if they are brought to their attention. If it's reposted under a different title, they wouldn't automatically notice it is the same item. That's where the concerns citizens like Greekchatters come in ... yes, go through the rigamarole of reporting it again. If one user is reported often enough, eBay will start automatically checking his/her stuff or yanking his/her user ID.

I thought eBay pulled used underwear listings. I think there was a big hoo-hah about that a year ago or so, but perhaps it was female lingerie.

sdidavide 12-20-2002 12:47 PM

The reason that ebay reposted it was because he changed the end of the description. Now instead of telling you key words that you can look up he made it sound like all of those organizations can use the things that he is selling when in fact it is the alpahbet divided by comma's.

alphaiota 12-20-2002 10:11 PM

at least nobody has bid on it. three days left and no bids as of yet. is there a way to report him to ebay or anywhere? this whole thing is completely disgraceful.

i reported him again, b/c he's still keyword spamming, just trying to make it appear legitimate. They're probably be yanked soon, they'd already been reported.

hmmm in my opinion.. not only is it just wrong to sell *used* underwear on eBay, I think what's even worse is the way he described the item:

"I got these shorts during one of my pledges held at my frat house about a year ago. They were required to be worn during initation after Rush Week - most of that time, these were the only thing we had initates wearing..."

I have a hard time believing this person that he does in fact belong to the organization, but that description was a little TMI if you ask me.

kddani 12-22-2002 08:44 PM

btw- our buddy selling the Beta Theta Pi stuff got his auctions pulled again :D

thanks to everyone else who reported it too!

ZTABullwinkle 12-22-2002 08:51 PM

kddani,

I just checked the auctions, and not only are they not pulled, but people have bid on them. :( I am not sure what link you checked, but look at my earlier post. Those are the ones that I clicked....

that's really weird
I had had them in my watched auctions, and it said "this item is no longer available" for them which means it's been pulled. But then i go to the links given here, and they're there.
Strange.
That sucks!

Now, I understand that there are some people out there who have fetishes for used undies, and so would buy them on ebay. But, not those kinds, I wouldn't think!

What is this world coming to?

Even though the auctions got pulled, does not mean he can't sell the items via email or just communicating with someone. if he chooses to, he can contact the highest bidder and sell the items without the help of ebay's listing...

but that's just a thought.
