As someone who's always been careful to monitor their weight, mostly because of my ROTC time, i can honestly say that i believe it's your health that's the most important thing.

I'm sure that once you'd seen me champ, you'd be like what a fatass, but according to Army weight standards, i was fine. I just tend to weigh more, due to my larger frame and the muscle mass i built up weightlifting. When i went to Advanced Camp i weighed 210 but my body fat percentage was 20%. Not exactly perfect, but i was able to pass an Army PFT and was considered good to go for the Army.

Regardless of your stance on fat people, you lost whatever credibility you had when you claimed that noone on this site looks better than average. I'm sorry if you don't equate personality and intelligence or whatever the hell you said, with beauty. If that is true i pity you and your future.

For me, i'll take a lady that is fun, has a bright personality, is intelligent, can carry a conversation, et al. and who may be 5, 10, hell 15 or 20 lbs. over her target weight any day of the week, as opposed to a dull, stick-thin Kate Moss wannabe.

I await your surely forthcoming asinine response.

PS. White Daisy....keep posting those pics gal, i think ya look great!

I really don't think too many people are disagreeing with you, I think people are disagreeing with your lack of tact.

And people want to see a pic because this dude must be fine if he can critique someone else like that. Cause if not, he belongs in that one thread about guys whose standards are just too high. Just because ya mama says you're cute...lol.

In all honesty, I have very high standards of physical attractiveness as well, but I don't think they are out of my own league. So basically imthechamp, if you are looking for someone extremely beautiful, well you better be too. Make sense?

btw, Contact, I don't know that you should be hurt...you did kinda invite the answers by starting the thread. Not that I condone the rudeness, but hey, in all fairness...

librasoul's right.

Don't ask "am I fat? be honest" if you don't want people to be honest!! that's just fishing for compliments that people don't really mean. champ is being kind of a jerk about it, but that's his honest opinion.

The only person you have to please is you. If you are unhappy with your appearance, do something about it...eat healthier and exercise - because you want to, not because friends, boys or society tells you to. And above all don't get an image of yourself as a "fat person" - self-image is contagioius.

When I was a teenager I was convinced my nose was too big...I kept verbalizing this to my friends...eventually they started cracking jokes about the size of my nose. It was my fault, I did it to myself! No one would have ever noticed it if I hadn't brought it up. So make sure you aren't making it harder on yourself.

I agree with LibraSoul.........I have never met a guy who I felt was "out of my league" and if that makes me vain, so be it.

The hilarious thing about those so-called beauties from Playboy is that in person, they are often HIDEOUS. Granted, a lot of it is about photogenic vs. not, but it seems to me that since Hef can pretty much get any woman in the world to pose for him, he could find some who are good on and off camera. I mean really, if you are going to send some "hottie" out to do a personal appearance for you she better look good. Case in point: I have been around on 3 separate occasions when Playboy models were making appearances, most recently at the Playboy Scramble preliminaries at a local country club. Every man I encountered was crabbing about how nasty the so-called "bunnies" were, and saying they can't believe skank dogs like that ever got into Playboy. The "models" gave the beer cart girl a Playboy shirt to wear.....big mistake. She was WAY more attractive than any of them and she ended up getting all the attention and a heck of a lot of tips. The Playboy girls were trying desperately to get attention and preening and prancing and nobody wanted to see them! I also was there one night when an actual Playmate made an appearance at a local bar, and the guys practically booed her out of there. Some of them had brought their centerfolds for her to sign and one guy I knew wanted to ask her for ID to prove she was really the same girl. She was chubby and downright homely. Very disappointing.

Thank you for explaining this to him librasoul! I just couldn't think of how to properly phrase it.

Gotta love "just because ya mama says you're cute", i know way too many guys like that!:D

Imthechamp 10-30-2002 05:07 PM

So yall are telling me my mama is lying when she tells me I'm the most handsomest guy in the world?

:(

FuzzieAlum 10-30-2002 06:37 PM

Well, if your momma has actually seen every guy in the world, she must be quite well-traveled!

kddani 10-30-2002 06:51 PM

why am i sensing a whole slew of "yo mamma" jokes coming out, lol?

what we're saying is that your momma could damn well be lying for all we know, we can't say 'cause we haven't seen :p

kddani 10-30-2002 07:19 PM

Haha, that was pretty good. Unfortunately I think many of our parents would actually think that. He doesn't quite appeal to many of the older generations.

OK, I hate to agree with the "fat" thing...but 160 does seem to be a bit overweight...I'm sure you're not hideous or anything but you obviosuly don't have very much self confidence and that could be leading to a negative perception of your body. When you walk with confidence, whether your 100 or 200 lbs , you seem a LOT more attractive. Learn to search for validation within yourself, not through others. I'm 5'4 and 120 lbs...I've struggled with my weight for a long time, but in the opposite direction as you. I used to be extremely underweight as a result of an extremely fast metabolism, I actually have to do little/moderate exercise or I'll get too skinny. So maybe an answer for you would be to start with moderate exercise, like Yoga, which I am addicted to and is so good for your soul, and build up, to more cardio and weight training for lean muscle, which will hopefully help you slim down a bit if you need it, or tighten up those problem areas. It may also help you find that self confidence that you really need. Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress, I know how hard it can be to start a good fitness routine and you may want to "crash diet" etc. but eating healthier foods and exercising right is always a MUCH BETTER idea! Lots of love and luck to ya!

Back on the 160lb subject...

I don't think that's too heavy, hell, I'm 5'5 and 153lbs. But, if you have a small frame it's not going to look too hot, yet, if you have a slighly larger frame (athletic built) then you're gonna -be- hot! Just go by your frame and/or genetics :) Sometimes those curves are just nicer to have than being a stick! Plus, look at the models in Maxim compared to the ones in Cosmo fashion ads, which do guys drool over more? The Maxim ladies.. :)

Craig, most of the time you come off as a pretty damn smart guy. So I'm disappointed as hell to see you write this!!! Sweetie, there are lots of girls out there, yes, girls that would cause even you to turn around after them and say, "Mama, buy me some of that!" who are 5'9 and 160 lbs. In fact, there was a weight limit on my college dance team - 100 lbs for five feet and 7 lbs for every inch beyond that. So someone who was 5'9 would be allowed to weigh 163. And believe me, those were some teensy li'l uniforms with no place to hide bumps or bulges!

Tracy,

I've seen some girls "carry themselves" well. I do know what you mean. Freshman black pants and some sort of a dark top can do wonders for big girls.

The question was not whether or not is she pretty.....the question...is 160 pds too fat for a chick her height?

In my view, at her height....yes thats too much.... However, thats not saying she's not cute. She may hide it well. She may have a bunch of those freshman black pants and PLENTY of dark tops. Either way.....it's only my thoughts.....I've come to realize they don't mean much on GC.

By the way... did I ever send you my pics???? I sent them out to a select few......I'm not sure if I sent any to you. If I didn't, let me know...however, there's a special oath you have to take before viewing them. You can't auction them off as if they were property.:D :D :D

Wow people surprise me... I would not consider myself "fat" although this semester I've been too busy to work out regularly :( This whole academic thing I'm on (what was I thinking taking *19* hours this semester??!!!) has softened me up some. But anyhoo, my point is that I'm about 5'8" and I level out around 170 lately (that's a pathetic 10 lbs I gained since the summer) But I'm still under the "normal" range of body fat for women... that "lean muscle mass" junk works wonders for weight w/o inches... haha...

Okay but thinking about this has depressed me and I'm going to HAVE to get back on my workout schedule before 10 becomes like 100 GEEEEEZ!! Way to freak me out people... :D

About the numbers game

I personally have a bigole problem with the scale numbers and even the BMI for saying if you are fat, overweight, too big, whatever.
I weigh over 225 lbs. ( no  faces here people trust I have LOST weight. And I'm tall.)

But no one ever guesses I weigh over 175. That's the highest guess I ever had someone throw at me. PLUS, I'm tall as heck, so the numbers kinda 'lie'. That number says I should be fat, and at 6'2'' apparently my BMI says I am overweight, but I am neither. So from personal experience I just say screw the numbers and go by how you feel, how you look, and the doctors orders.

PLUS... I guess it's just my culture but I come from a place where I worried about my behind and thighs not being big or round ENOUGH (to be attractive of course, it cushions my seat just fine). LOL
And the guys be looking for 'body' as in curves, some (SOME) don't mind a little belly, don't want no girl with huge hard muscles in her arms (the legs are a different story), etc. I appreciate the rounder female form because of it... I'd rather look that way than be too skinny. So, I've known women who are 5'4'' who definitely would not be called fat... and would definitely be pursued more than the skinny or 'healthy' chicks... all in the attitude and where you are.

that's my $.02...
