Saw these numbers posted on IG:

Chi O 90
ADPi 138
Pi Phi 111

NYCMS 09-24-2017 11:01 PM

Phi Mu 117
Alpha Phi 160 (corrected from original info)

I think KD has 104 new members!

AnchorSouth 09-24-2017 11:18 PM

Delta Gamma 112

I know this means variable quota is working as intended, but 200 new members absolutely boggles my mind. And I thought I came from a campus with big pledge classes in the 60s!

Rebel Mom, we would love to know how rush went for your daughter!! I really hope that she got a bid to the chapter of her dreams.

Tri-Delt - 101

And I just leaned that Alpha Phi took 160 girls, not 200. Still a lot but sounds more aligned with how they've built their chapter since colonizing. I hear their new house is stunning (looks that way from pics I've seen).

@clemsongirl, the size of OM chapters boggles my mind. I think Tri Delt was about 450 a few years ago and was the largest Tri Delt chapter in the country.

Kappa pledged 110.

thetalady 09-25-2017 12:22 AM

I am told that Theta pledged 183, but have not confirmed that....

NYCMS 09-25-2017 12:50 AM

AOPi took 111

SAMKD 09-25-2017 01:25 AM

Any idea what the quotas were?

Yes I was told it was around 180 so that sounds about right. This has been the biggest pledge class in quite awhile and it makes me very happy. Rachel was thrilled to learn of all the new baby kites running home yesterday!! I have some fabulous pictures from one of her friends. I truly think the variable quota was the best thing for Ole Miss and I hope they keep it for a few more years at least. Lots of happy smiles all the way around yesterday!! :)

Each chapter sets their own quota based on their past and current stats/numbers. (It's called Variable quota). So, there isn't a "set" number like in years past that each house has to meet.

I saw that Kelly Bensimon's daughter Sea pledged Kappa. Haven't heard what the pledge class sizes are for the various houses.

Parents?

I feel like with a recruitment of that size, inviting parents would be asking for things to get out of hand, especially when hurt feelings, kids not getting their first choice, come into play.

Are they usually pretty tame?

Do they set their own quota independently, or are they each given their own quota by the RFM specialist/Greek life? And does each chapter get a minimum quota based on the number of women that attended preference?

Because if they are setting an arbitrary quota based on what the chapter wants/needs without regard for the number of PNMs going through recruitment, then that IS "bed rush".

So I assume there are some guidelines for how many PNMs each chapter must take.

And just from afar, I know that a few women were excited that their chapters were taking PNM classes that were smaller than last year. I hope that OleMiss doesn't fall into the smaller classes = more exclusive chapters trap.
