Your daughter sounds like an incredible young lady. Having suitemates and friends in chapters can help a lot. I just have a feeling things will work out for her and that you'll be back to update us with exciting news. I did a rec for an Auburn PNM a couple of years ago who didn't have the outcome she hoped for during fall recruitment. The next semester, though, she pledged a chapter through COB and is very happy. I wish the same happy ending for your daughter!

I hope your daughter will find an organization or two that she would enjoy being a member of. Auburn has so many clubs and activities. She also needs to find a way to volunteer her time, because sororities look for these kind of things on resumes', and expect members to be involved on campus outside of the sorority.

Could you begin looking for people in your area who might be willing to write her a rec? Especially one for the sorority that sweet sophomore belongs to...just in case.

Good idea FSUzeta! WE actually just moved across the country and don't know a soul here but I do know a close friend who said her cousin was a member of that same sorority and would write her a rec. We dropped the request because by that time she was released but probably a good idea to get that going again huh?

I just love that sweet sophomore!

It couldn't hurt. If she doesn't join a sorority this year but wants to give it a go next year, she will need recs to ALL the chapters at Auburn.

Your daughter seems to be the epitome of a friend. She is the one others could aspire to. It takes a big person to be happy for others in the face of her own disappointment.
