Toni
Based on this from her website: September 17, 2002-- R&B diva Toni Braxton is pregnant with her second child, according to a report by EURweb columnist Jawn.
This pregnancy marks the second child for Braxton and her husband Keri Lewis of R&B band Mint Condition. In light of the impending little one, though, the singer may be forced to delay the release of her fourth album, More Than A Woman, just as she begins a promotional campaign. At press time, album was still scheduled to be released on November 19. According to the report, executives at the siren's label may be frustrated with the singer, since the pregnancy announcement came just as the first single, "Hit the Freeway," featuring Loon and Pharrell, was leaked to radio last week. An Irv Gotti-produced song, "No More Love," was quietly released to urban radio earlier in the summer to little fanfare. Reports said Braxton was prepared to make a slew of promotional appearances in support of the album, including The Tonight Show, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Late Night with David Letterman, The Wayne Brady Show, NBC's Today Show, a Christmas tree lighting at New York City's Rockefeller Center and others. Ashanti and Brandy co-wrote two of the songs on More Than A Woman, and Braxton's spouse Lewis reportedly wrote and produced many songs the record. Other producers slated to appear are Rodney Jerkins, Babyface, Mannie Fresh and the Neptunes. The Grammy award-winning songstress has had a slew of hits, including "Love Shoulda Brought You Home," "Another Sad Love Song," "You're Makin' Me High," "Un-Break My Heart," and "Breathe Again." Source: BET.com Why do I think her album will be a hot mess!?!?! Ashanti and Brandy co-writing. Please tell me I will not hear darkchild every other beat in her songs. Not only that GO BACK TO BABYFACE!!! |

James Brown's ingrate kids
Papa's Got a Brand New Lawsuit
by Josh Grossberg Sep 18, 2002, 2:00 PM PT back to story If a new lawsuit's to be believed, James Brown, aka the hardest working man in show business, has sired the hardest working kids in show business. Daughters Deanna Brown Thomas and Yamma Brown Lumar are suing their famous father for more than $1 million in back royalties. They say they cowrote 25 tunes with Brown, including his funky 1976 hit "Get Up Offa That Thing." And we almost forgot--according to the suit, the daughters helped compose said music when they were just six and three years old, respectively.  The seemingly prodigy progeny filed their suit in federal court in Atlanta, accusing Papa Brown of withholding royalty payments and seeking restitution for breach of contract, racketeering and negligence. "There had been some undue delay for the past year in which, behind closed doors, we had fought to resolve this matter on an amicable basis with Mr. Brown's attorney. [But] they had no other recourse but to seek to get their just due monies owed to them," the daughters' attorney, Gregory Reed, tells E! Online. "They just wanted to be made whole." While a casual fan might wonder how the 33-year-old Thomas, who works for a South Carolina radio station, and the 29-year-old Lumar, a doctor in Texas, might actually have cowritten the songs at such a tender age, Reed emphasizes that their names have been on the copyright since day one, entitling them to their fare share of the royalties. "As a copyright owner, it's a piece of property. It doesn't matter how old you are," added Reed. "Their name shows up on the day of the selling of the copyrights, their name appears consistently from the beginning." According to the suit, the bad blood in the Brown brood stems from his 1998 stint in a psychiatric hospital. The daughters--worried about his deteriorating condition--had daddy forcibly placed in the facility to be treated for an addiction to painkillers. Following his discharge, Brown "vowed to the media that his daughters will never get a dime from him," court papers state. "James Brown has kept his word." Reed says that Brown's attorney, Leon Friedman, sent a letter to the daughters a year ago offering $66,000--far from the $200,000 the two offspring were seeking for penning such tunes as "Night Train," "Body Heat" and "In the Georgia Disco." At one point, Reed says, Brown also offered $198,000 to Thomas and Lumar in exchange for them giving up their share of the copyright, but they turned him down. The lawsuit notes that Brown has been feeling good enough to pay his ex-wife, Diedre Jenkins, who also owns a stake in the copyright, but when it comes to his own kids, it's strictly a man's world. But, adds Reed, perhaps the good news is that both father and daughters have been able to separate business from family. "It's been cordial. They speak all the time. It's just that he indicated it was going to be taken care, but it's been more than a year," the lawyer says. Brown's attorney, meanwhile, had no comment on the lawsuit. Is James Brown just a shady man...he's been blamed for his deceased wife's dead. Word on the street was that she died during plastic surgery and that she was getting the surgery for James or to look better for him.
Then he had sexual harassment lawsuits and then he had a radio station that got burnt down. The insurance didn't want to pay him; they thought it was fraudulent.   |
I thought JB's wife passed away because the anesthesia (for the surgery) mixed with the drugs (narcotics, not Ibuprofen) that were already in her system.
 |
Yes James Brown is in fact shady
THe only reason his daughters are listed as writers on those songs in the first place is so that his estate could get an extra fifty or so years of copyright on his songs. But being as how I assume he thought that THEY would be representing his estate, it doesn't seem like such a bad thing to do.
For them to claim they ACTUALLY had input.... come on..... |

J.LO LO-DOWN: Lopez camp refutes "anti-Black" rumors.
(Sep. 13, 2002) *We've got the J. Lo-down. Rumors have spread due to a UK newspaper report, that the star refused to let the Music of Black Origin Awards use her music on their MOBO 2002 soundtrack (though the star received nominations from the organization) because she doesn't consider her music to be of "black origin." Say what?
The report claims that Lopez wrote a letter refusing to let any of her songs be on the album, does not want anything to do with the collection, and that her music heritage is Latin, not Black. But Lopez's manager Benny Medina says, "Hey, what's new in the universe of British tabloid press?" Medina says the story is false. "There is no letter that exists that responded in such a way, and it just seems to make no sense at all. She is so much a fan of both Black hip-hop music, artist, producers and the like, and 90% of the writers and producers on her album are contrary to that statement -- not Latinos, but actually Blacks." In fact, Medina says the label didn't know anything about the compilation album. "Not only has she never said anything disparaging about Black music, she was never even asked officially to participate in this compilation. Sony, Benny Medina, Handprint Entertainment, and Jennifer Lopez confirm that," he said. |
this may be a rumor as stated but I'd like to say her actions speak louder than her words.

I've read that it's written in stone J. Lo and Ben are going to jump the broom.
http://entertainment.msn.com/celebs/gossip/two.asp |
i am really surprised that no one is talking about this. On Friday on RUss and Olivia they reported that LArry Judd, Chris Judd's dad (former Mr. J Lo) said that J. Lo and Ben have been dating since Chris and J were 5 months married and that J Lo was with Chris before she broke up with P Diddly. He spoke very harshly about his former daughter in law. My question is THIS: Did Chris really think he was all that for the same thing to NOT happen to him. I mean come on you could be BACK UP DANCER Extraordinaire but sooner or later you were bound to be replaced. Just go ahead and ride off in the sunset with your Benzo and stuff.
Is J. Lo still reportedly prego because remember around OSCAR time she was prego. |

If she marries Ben this would mean she's been married twice in 2002   . Does being rich means you have to be crazy!! . This girl seems as if she can't LIVE without a man and some DRAMA . |
IT'S ALL A STUNT!! she needs to do better than what she is right now. She is doing all of this just to get our attention, which she is definitely doing. I never knew that she was pregnant, but the again, I learn something new everyday. As for Chris, I don't think that it was about love (but them again, who am I to say?) I think that all of this is about publicity and career moves. He is probably living swell now. I wonder what the terms of the divorce were.
The funny thing is that I don't even think that she cares that everyone thinks she's a tramp. And she called herself trying to call P. Diddy out on "Ain't that Funny?" I know what's funny--the fact that she has been around more than a church collection plate. |
Did anyone see Kelly Osbourne at the Emmy Awards? She had a big black curly wig on!!!!!:D :D :D :D . This family is too far gone!!
