Born and raised in Florida - Jacksonville, have lived in Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami (half of the time), and now Orlando.

Orlando is cool, but WAY too much traffic. The best part is that on any given day you can go to pretty much any theme park you want to (I have annual passes to Disney, Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, and Busch Gardens - BG is in Tampa). Also the second best and their kinda tied is the food. You think of a restaraunt or a type of food and you can pretty much get it. And, if that weren't enough I live closer to the beach here than I did when I lived on the coast.

Florida is not Hawaii, but it probably runs a close second don't ya think???

ARE YOU KIDDING?! Yeah, it's tea with sugar added, but if you get it in the south it's more like syrup so much sugar's added. Once you have it, you will have no clue why people up north EVER survived with unsweet tea!!!!

CarolinaDG we put sugar in our tea as well, but I have never heard anyone refer to Iced Tea as Sweet Tea.

In the deep south it is either Iced Tea or Sweet Tea, nothing in between!!!! :D

this all new to me. So whats the differrence between Iced Tea and Sweet Tea??? Is sweet tea warm? Has more sugar?

Swamp tea
 

I lived in Tennessee and North Carolina for four years, and I first learned of something called "swamp tea" there. It's simply iced tea mixed w/lemonade.

Here in SoCal, it's called an "Arnold Palmer" at the Daily Grills in Newport Beach and Irvine.

Yeah, the iced tea mixed with lemonade is good stuff!

As far as the sweet tea thing, I really am not sure. I mean, all I can tell you is this... How to make sweet tea: Brew a quart of tea, add a cup of sugar (or more, depending) while still warm... pour in glass of ice: Bingo, bongo... sweet tea! If you ask for iced tea down here, you still get sweet tea.

oh its the same thing hahaha. I though it was something new. I guess its like Orange Coke and Orange Soda.

Must be careful when ordering tea if you want it sweet depending on where you are. In Florida you have to first ask if they have sweet tea, if they don't (most places don't) you then have to decide if you really want to use a sugar substitute
(it won't taste the same) because once the tea is cold sugar doesn't dissolve it just sinks to the bottom and doesn't really sweeten as it should :( So we either get sweet tea or just order coke :D

Hey heres a positive thing about dc and the country. Where else can Neo-Nazi/White Supremacist march down Pennsylvania Avenue. We has a neo/nazi rally today in dc today, we have one every year. I love DC and all but, sometimes I wished I lived somewhere where nothing happens like rallies, demonstrations, tourists, etc. I guess the grass is always greener on the otherside.

i like jacksonville because...

1) each section has a totally different vibe in the people and places that are there (area names are mandarin, arlington, northside, southside, westside, intercoastal, beaches, southpoint, san marco, ..there are others that i cannot remember right now)

2) the city growth (it does get annoying, but i like it cause it feels like a brand new city)

3) the different beaches

4) i love downtown- The Jacksonville Landing, Museum of Science and Natural History, Cummer Museum...

5) i like how this city is so freakin big, that after 6 years of living here, i can still find a unfamiliar area of town

6) orange park ( a city that practically sits in the middle of jacksonville) and ponte vedra beach (the ritsy little town next door)

you are going to make me cry. i was born in philly and i wish i could be there right now. :(

Oh girl, I dont' know about that. I have family in, ok I can't spell - Yipslianti-somewhere outside of Detroit. When they come in, its the cutest thing ever! I don't know how to explain it, but some Michigan natives pronounce things with an 'o' as 'or' or 'orh'. Okay, its really hard to explain, but my Aunt and her best friend she brought home does it perfectly!

KENTUCKY!!!!!!

1.) Hello! Do I even have to say it.........University of Kentucky basketball!!!! Tradition, Love, Spirit!!! Basketball, it's a religion here!
2.) HORSE CAPITOL OF THE WORLD!!!!!!
3.) Derby - whether you like horses, races, or whatnot - this is the place to be, drunk or sober/ dressed up or dressed down, celebrity/non-celebrity.....party is in the infield!!!!!
4.) "My Old Kentucky Home" - How many of you practically cry everytime you hear your state song? No matter where you're at in Kentucky, whether its Commonwealth Stadium, Rupp Arena, or in the middle of a grocery store - you'll see that one Kentuckian, arm and arm with another, and one hand raised up for "we will sing one song for my old Kentucky home......" ah....tear!
5.) Experiencing all four seasons - some really hot summer days and some really cold winter nights!
6.) Caving - If you like to go caving or just like to explore random caves Kentucky is it! Mammoth Caves, Carter Caves, etc....all good camping and exploring sights.
7.) Marker's Mark! - ah yes, bourbon!!
8.) Illegal reasons! - ok, so I"m totally not in support of smoking pot. However, last year at Music Mid-Town in Atlanta - this guy was smoking right in front of me. I turned around to his friend and said "Lord, what does he have?". And the guy goes, "oh, its really good pot - you want some" I laughed and said, "No, really good pot is in Kentucky!" B/c that stuff smelled horrid.....and it took him like forever to even act like it was working, he looked like he was straining and his eyes were clear as day. Really good stuff smells like sweet grass! And I'll take my friends advice when they say it doesn't take long to work. So my advice, pot smokers - get your stuff from Kentucky!!

11.) Flatwoods, KY (where I"m from, yea I know don't laugh) - Proud home of Billy Ray Cyrus!!!! :D (ok, actually he is a really good guy, he paid for the unexpected death of one the girls I went to high school with :( )
12.) Ashland, KY (city right outside of Flatwoods) - Home of The Judds, primarily Ashley who loves UK basketball!!!

Ypsi!!! little town (where eastern michigan u. is) right outside of ann arbor - one of my favorite cities in the US.
