My grandlittle currently has my badge and will not give it back. She is MIA.

I've seen girls do that. They get kicked out and say they hate everything about the chapter but won't give back their letters. I think it's a love-hate thing. They have to pretend to hate the chapter (and they are pissed) because they've been de-sistered, but they hate not belonging and being left out. |

For all of those who really don't want your biological sis to wear your sorority t-shirts to school I think that you should reconsider. If I had a sister in High School I would totaly let her wear shirts that had Chi Omega all over them because that is great PR...especially for the girls who are seniors about to go into college. I think that you may be reading way too much into the issue. I would feel flattered if one of my sisters biological sisters wanted to represent my sorority. Maybe I would react differently if I was the one in the situation.

I was told that NO ONE, and that includes my biological sister, who is not an AXD can wear our letters! I don't make an exception for her just because I love her to death.
One interesting exception - people like boyfriends and whatnot can wear event t-shirts if they were at the event (the key being they were there, right, and the shirt doesn't imply membership). So if you have a lesbian sister, her girlfriend could end up in event t-shirts and people could mistake her for a sister. It happened in our chapter - but I think she chose not to wear them just because of that. |
a question?
I was just wondering what everyone thinks about wearing your letters on a campus where there is no chapter? I ask this because I am moving away from my collegiate chapter in a month but I will be spending a lot of time on another campus that does not have a ZTA chapter. The school has a very strong Greek system and I am worried that if I am seen wearing my letters where there are no ZTAs I will be looked down at. I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem? Or if you have noticed someone wearing letters from a GLO that is not on your campus, what did you think??
Thank you! ZLAM! |
I would say, wear them! Most Greeks will see your letters and be curious to know more about where you're from and your organization. They won't think you're faking it.

Just the other week I saw an "older" man walking and lo and behold, he was wearing a shirt with Pi Beta Phi letters! He could've been the father of a Pi Phi, but even then he's not supposed to wear the letters. I'll be sure not to donate my letters!

I would say go ahead and wear your zta stuff around campus !! My bis sis's roommate just transfered to our school and was a Chi-O at her old school. Unfortunately for her we don't have chapter... but I saw her walking around the other day with a sweatshirt. I thought it was great. She is still a member even if she doesn't go to school with her sisters anymore... :D I don't think anyone who is greek will look down on you.. Hey they know what its like to want to represent your org even if there isn't anyone else around to represent with you... that's all I have to say about that ;)
